Which one?

Rolex Explorer 40 mm or Tudor Ranger 39 mm

Either would be a good choice, both are excellent watches, but my vote would be for the Ranger. 😁

·

My wrist size is 8 1/4 as you see in pictures

·

I love the Ranger (looks way better on the wrist than off) but if you have the choice you would get the Explorer obviously.

·

As a Ranger owner that gets my vote. Most comfortable watch I own and super reliable. And being all brushed I feel comfortable wearing it for any activity. A very worry free watch.

·

I think the Explorer fits your wrist better.

Actually I bought the Ranger the same day I put my name down for the Explorer 40. After 5-1/2mo I got the call for the Rolex. In many respects I like the Ranger better: the Tudor t-fit clasp is better than the easy-link; The Ranger's lume is better; I prefer the brushed finish of the Ranger. The Explorer is beautiful, but the Ranger has an understated, consistent tooly vibe I really like. Having said all that, I have been wearing the Rolex almost every day since I got it. 🤔 Btw, the Explorer "40" is actually a bit under 39mm, so they are the same size.

Bingo: it has an "under-the-radar" look that makes it really appealing for "real life".

Not going to lie, I feel like there is space in my collection for the new 40mm Explorer as well. Just have to get my Sub first.

Ranger.

·

Depends on what your are after. For resale value, Rolex. To say look at me, Rolex. Everyday wear, Tudor.

·

Explorer for me

·

The explorer fits you better I think and I don't personally like fauxtina lume. The Rolex would also hold value better so if you have the money and you can actually buy one I would go for the explorer.

Yet the rolex still looks bigger on his wrist.

Ranger

It does. Part of that may be the Rolex's 'male' endlink, which makes the watch unnecessarily long.

If push came to shove I’d pick explorer but it’s close the ranger is my favourite Tudor by some margin

I tried on a short while after they were realised and if they had one in the store I would have walked out with it. Could have had it the next week but decided to wait and concentrate on the watches I have planned on getting. Explorer has classic looks but like most Rolex watches they aren’t for me but I’d appreciate the classic design and quality and it’s about as under the radar they get

·

No contest. If money is not a barrier then explorer all the way.

I'm wearing with the easy link open, I will need and extra link
