Farer Discovery Black or CW Twelve(blue dial)

Hi! Looking for a daily swiss watch with steel bracelets that I can also wear on special occasions. My wirst is thin so the size 36mm of both watches would suit me well. I would have gone for the Farer Erebus midnight but cant find any so am down to my alternatives. Both are prices alsmost the same at around 1k usd. Loved that the Farer has that Explorer vibe but also loved the blue dial from CW. At this price point which is the better buy? Having a hard time to decide. Thanks!

Of these two? I’d pick the Farer. I prefer the design. More versatile. Plus you can put it on straps.

That said, I have no experience with either brand. I’ve heard great things about both, though.

That Discovery looks like one I’d never tire of. What a beauty

Farer

·

LIf you want the bracelet, go the Twelve. If you want a strap, go with a C63 or C65 three hander... ignore Farer, they are bland designs pretending to be cool.

The Farer is a blatant Explorer copy.. if that's your thing, save money and buy a San Martin.

·

I have a Twelve, but I would not call it versatile, where as the Farer will work with almost anything. Own several will likely add more, they are that good.

·

Why not the CW c63 in 36mm? There's really good color options and it has a explorer vibes without the numbers.

I'll take a look at it. Thanks!

Farer. They’re very well built and that design is killer! I’m convinced that you’ll be happier by far in the long run.

CW for sure ..

I'm more attracted to the Farer designs personally.

·

You can't go wrong with either brand, I have a Farer Lander and a CW Worldglow.

You'll find that the Farer will be slightly more versatile, partly from being a black dial, but also the ability to pick whatever strap you want.

But the 12 dial really is stunning, and that bracelet!!

·

Farer, to me, has more personality

·

Pick cw you won’t regret it. Wore it for one year daily beater. Dress up, dress down, swim, hike, scuba it has been everywhere

·

I’ve owned I’ve owned both. They are good brands. Quite honestly I would go with the Farer. As has been previously said the bracelet can be exchanged for a multitude of straps and the dial is stunning and so versatile. They have similar build quality to CW perhaps even better. And I’m not keen on that bumpy dial by CW just a personal preference.

·

Farer is a bit plain to me for the price. 12 has way more character and easy to swap the straps/bracelet to change the vibe. If you dig the Explorer type I'd second what others said and get a CW Sealander. Find the CW case more interesting than the Farer.

I have the Black Velvet and I love it. I alternate between the steel milanese strap, and two leather straps one black and one brown. It's very versatile and it's aesthetics are perfect, especially for someone who has very slim wrists like me!

Farer - great design and they are doing so many things so well. This model in particular just looks so much more distinct and screams quality. With that said, that CW is very nice, but as a brand CW has never has clicked with me. So this recommendation is highly subjective on my part.

Yeah I'm kinda leaning to Farer now. Lovely watch!

I have farer and CWs, I love my farers but out of those two the CW will look and feel like the higher quality watch.

CW is the better looking one.

·

I think the choice should be made based on what’s already in the collection to maximise your appreciation

Twelve might be the way to go then, if you want more diversity

Farer, easily. I'm bias and not a fan of the PRX/Twelve look. CW is great though, I'm a big fan of their Dune models.
