Synchronise your watches!

In a moment of OCD, I decided to synchronise my mechanical watches this morning. Yeah, I know!

I’m going to use the excuse that I wanted to test the accuracy for each watch. Yeah, I know!

For those of you with too many watches (i.e. more than one), have you ever synchronised them all?

Please make yourself known in the comments, I want to find fellow freaks to make myself feel a bit better about how I spend my time in setting the time, exactly.

P.S. And before you comment, I know the Seikos are out by a second or two. What do you expect, I synchronised them all at around 11am - so they’d been running for about 30mins - just enough time to gain/lose a second or two (or 10)!

Awesome collection ðÂÂÂ

Ok ⦠now I want to do this!

But I need more!

  • Is each one wound up like ~5 turns each so they match?

  • Or are they all max winded (Im always afraid to do that cus I have a habit of overwinding equipment at work)?

  • What about the current daily. Do you have to wait for it to die so everything is even?

If I go into synchronizing all my watches, I would go insane. At most if the watch I'm wearing is off by 30 seconds I might adjust the time

I used to because of my ocd. All my watches run fast so I can hack stop them to the perfect time. But as I'm getting older I realize I spend too much time in the morning winding and adjusting 20+ watches. It also adds to their wear and tear. Now I just set them up as I use them. it gives me good one on one time with them, plus it's a good way to keep track of which watches are getting the most wrist time.

Nice strap and watch spread. Are the rough out straps lined ? IâÂÂm making some leather ones now unlined

Since they are all on straps, you can surely wear at least 6 at one time, you know, for science!

I do this about once a week, even with the quartz watches because why not.

Love the questions: a fellow pedant :). All wound to max, including the watch I’m wearing.

Straps are my other obsession! Not lined, and better for it. Look forward to seeing the results of your straps on here soon.

This was an aberrant weakness. I normally allow them to run down and, like you, give each watch some one on one love when it’s being adorned.

Love the collection and the straps. What colour is the strap on that IWC? Is it red or is it brown… 🤔

I’m told it’s brown, but reddish brown. But don’t trust me, I’m colour blind :).

Own 4 and I wind them just about every night (if I’m home) and synchronize them once every week. Yeah yeah I know this adds overall wear-and-tear to the movements but I get them serviced every couple of years anyways. Fun fact: I started doing this as a non-conventional way to teach my kids to count as part of a bedtime routine…and it worked! I’ve kept up the tradition ever since

Gracias. Lo siento, mi español es tan malo.

The day I bought a G Shock with atomic time I set all my watches and clocks by it!

Since then I've been wearing the G Shock and not really bothered checking the others for a while.😬

·

Actually, I’ve never done that. I only do the watch of the day.

·

I did that weekly until the collection got to big. Now, once a week, I take a strictly defined number of watches and do your trick on them. Next week another batch and so on.
