Vintage Dive Watch Homage Build - Part 4: The Final Mockup
PREVIOUSLY - Part 1: The Idea, Part 2: The Dial, Part 3: The Bezel
The results are in from the bezel and seconds hand polls. Stop reading my mind! White markers, an inclination towards 15-minute markers, and almost a dead split on the seconds hand (with a slight nod to white) are the top picks from WatchCrunch.
After narrowing things down on my side, and considering all the crunchy feedback, I've put together some final designs which also happens to be convenient for another POLL!
Design 1 - Epochal Analogs
This is going to be my personal build, and I'd like to include the brand name. That of course means I need 3 lines of specs at 6 o'clock otherwise it won't look balanced. And then another brand name line at the bottom. Combine that with the 15 minute markers on the bezel, and oh gawd now it's starting to look busy, I might change my mind again!
Design 2 - The Minimalist
No wordmark, minimal text, no extra minute marks on the bezel. Less is MOAR! I'm not even sure why there is anything on this dial. For that matter, why is there anything inside the case? Just buy one of those Becomb's @got_time_1 is always posting!

I definitely detect a preference for less is more here on WatchCrunch. I usually feel the same, but I'm worried the Epochal logo looks too much like Islander to be by itself. I do like the one based on WatchCrunch feedback though. Maybe I need to build more than one!

You don't have to worry about matching parts from different vendors, or misaligned hands, or a cheap bezel lume pip falling out if there are none!

BTW - the leather band reminds me of the Omega Speedmaster Schumacher circa 1991
