That is nice handiwork down the spine of the handle on the knives.
Is it just me, or does the knife next to the Oris look like it has a carving of a Transformer at the end of the handle, just before the blade starts?!
They do look nice! Both knives are known as Laguiole knives (i think it's named after a place in France where the knives are usually made). The handiwork is a guillochage usually done by the artisan who made the knife (like a signature). In most laguioles, you'll usually see carvings on the spine, then a bee/fly, then a continuation of the carvings on the swedge of the blade. I think TGV from the Urban Gentry also did a video on one of his laguiole knives. Thanks!

How dare you torturing fellow addictives? I mean, I have more fountain pens, inks, papers and notebooks than I could ever use and knives enough to arm the neighborhood in a Zombie apocalypse ๐. Well, and whisky, and, ...
BTW the Faber-Castell E-Motion is for me much more a sign of a real collector and connoisseur than the Montblanc ๐.
I'm not into knives at all but I do have a few fountain pens, because I was taught to write with a nib and an ink well, therefore fountain pens are the closest thing I can use today to replicate the experience in my daily life without being too weird.
There are also semi-reasonable reasons for the exclusive use of fountain pens as they allows me to use inks in specific colors (eg I only sign in green) or indelible archive inks when I want to be sure that what was written or signed is really mine and wasn't altered.
Also, they are cool and will last a lifetime if they are well maintained.
I too love a fountain pen and good knife, but my budget doesn't allow for more than two Opinels, a Leatherman and a Pilot Metropolitan which ran out of ink the first day I took it to school.

A Kaweco Brass Sport ๐คฏ. Man, that thing is a weapon, a very literal interpretation of โThe Pen is Mightier Than the Sword". No need to be in knives with this armor breaking bullet in the pocket.

That is awesome. I started using fountain pens because of how they write on proper paper. I find my hands are less strained as compared to when I write with a ball point. I had a Kaweco sport too but i had downsize the pen collection ๐ . Cool Yema watch!

Opinels are awesome! I have one, too. It's a real workhorse of a knife and less intimidating than the more popular "tacticool" knives.

Oh I do have other pens from LAMY, Waterman and even a Montblanc which was gifted by the GF, but this brass sport Kaweco with its ultra fine steel nib is the one with which I'm most comfortable with.

Did you know that there is a limited Kaweco Sport edition made of massive 925 sterling silver which sports Kaweco's phenomenal 14k rhodanized gold nib? It's a crazy beast of an ultra comfortable fountain pen.

I did change my nib to the Rhodium variant and I didn't like it a bit because it was too stiff. The standard steel is the best for me.

Iโm already into knives, flashlights, AND watches, I definitely donโt need to go down the fountain pen rabbit hole as well. Got myself a Fisher Space pen, and stopped there.
On the second pic, I have a full ebonite pen from Lotus (i think it's an fp manufacturer from India). It's a nice and lightweight pen!
I'm sorry I did not see the second picture when I commented. I was on my phone and these old eyes miss things sometimes. I have read about and seen only some of those Lotus pens in pictures. Lovely looking pen and watch combo!
Never went too far down the knife rabbit hole but have several. Fountain pens were another affliction while I was working and using them every day. A Meisterstruck is definately cheaper than a Rolex. ๐ Now that I'm retired, I sort of lost interest in those too.

I see, that's very interesting - thanks. ๐ค
Yea, writing with those fountain pens just hit different ๐๐
that is a very nice classic Meisterstuck ! I also have a problem with fountain pens โฆ
One's clearly a Montblanc, but @IvanRomero is better at identifying pens than I am.

Yes! It's a 146 (same size as legrand). It's from the 80s - the ones that come with ebonite feed.

The other is a Faber Castel E motion in pear wood I think. I have the same pen. ๐๐ผ

that is a perfect arrangment . I too love pens but still leaning more on watches the budget is limited

Something fun and satisfying about a good pen and a good knife.
Had to stop carrying mine though, got tired of ink going everywhere. Fountain pens aren't necessarily the greatest for daily carry in uniform.
But that just have me an excuse to get into pressurized variants like Fisher Space Pens, Rite-in-the-Rain, rollerballs, etc ๐.
