Nato Straps

I am fond of nato (single-pass) straps. Have a lot of them, especially the ribbed ones. But i'm really convinced that they are the sole reason for spring bar failures!๐Ÿ˜… that's why i almost only often use nato straps with Seiko SKXs because of their chunky spring bars. Has anyone experienced spring bar failure with any of the SKXs?

All the time!

Interesting, because they might be worn so tight?

Most of the springbar failures I've had since 2007 have always been in bracelets or straps. And of those, almost predominantly steel. I've had a few failures on a NATO, but the concept of the strap prevented my watch head from bouncing off the ground.

I have switched over to using, almost exclusively, Marathon shoulderless spring bars though.

I only use genuine Seiko "Fat" spring bars. They're a pain to switch out because they don't have collars. But I've never had an SKX spring bar failure.

No. So far so good

I have not had any spring bar failures but I try not to crank down on the strap. It feels uncomfortable and restricting. I have considered buying beefier spring bars just in case but have not done so yet.
