I have both, but i do prefer Quartz not only you can get Quartz models cheaper than Mechanical watches, they are less prone to mangentic fields affecting the time keeping and you can even get HAQ models for not much and Solar quartz is also pretty awesome, just keep it in the light and it always be pick up and go.
I didn't know this classification of "Tourist watch", my Victorinox Fieldforce Chrono has been a solid watch for almost 2 years now, i agree it's a bit overpriced, the Ronda quartz movement they use behaves like a cheap quartz movement but the case, crystal quality of the AR and even the elather band is pretty good.
No excuse really, i just don't need another connected device tracking me 24/7 that also requires charging every few days, it's more a bother than a help most of the time.
I noiticed with many official pictures from watchmakers lika Casio, Seiko, Citizen and even some high end brands, i don't know if it's a render or just bad pictures but the watches always end up looking better in person.
I'll be a bit biased as he Lunar Pilot is my daily watch now a days but it's an awesome watch, it's well made, really accurate still didn't have to adjust the time in close to an year and also it's a bit a conversation starter since it's a bit unusual.
