Tudor Heritage Ranger... and a new Haveston strap

Let me say upfront, I bought the Tudor Heritage Ranger knowing that I hated the bracelet on it. That straight bar, 'vintage' style... even though the closest vintage Tudor to the Heritage Ranger - the 1967 Tudor Oyster Prince Ranger 7995/0 - didn't actually sport a bracelet like that... yeah. I knew from the start it had to go.

But what could I replace it with? I have struggled with a few concepts over time, until I saw a guy post on WatchCrunch a few months back (apologies for forgetting his name). I think the post was mostly about his watch, but he mentioned that the strap it was on was by a company called Haveston. I was impressed and investigated.

Long story short, I found its M-1918C to be pretty much what I was looking for, in terms of colour and 'rugged' vibe and, at less than $30, it was a no-brainer to at least try, right?

Colour me impressed. The strap is REALLY well made and, for a canvas strap, REALLY comfortable. I've had some dodgy canvas straps in the past. This blows them away, with ease. So if you're thinking about a canvas strap, do take a look at Haveston.

My exact order, if you want to replicate it for YOUR Tudor Heritage Ranger:

THE M-1918C CANVAS STRAP - Variation: 22mm, Brushed, (Canvas Keeper Version)

Interesting decision and a brilliant solution, the smiley face Ranger was one of several Tudor watches my sa ordered in for me to consider a few years ago. I ended up just buying a blue 42mm Pelagos did not like the bracelet on the Ranger was not going to waste the dollars so I declined the additional item. I have since purchased the up dated Ranger but not in love with the 39mm size, appears small compared to other watches in my rotation. I have ordered an oem fabric strap which will at least alter the experience. Thx for the post.

That's exactly the vibe I'm going for. Not dressing the watch up to be an alternative sort of dress watch, but giving it the look of something you'd take on a safari or some other equally exotic endeavour :)

Yes, although some people rave about it, I wouldn't be happy with the 39mm Ranger, either. This watch "just works" for me. I look at it and go, "Yep... perfect... apart from that bloody bracelet!" LOL.

Thinking back, I could have tried ordering the Ranger with the fabric strap but Tudor/Rolex no longer switch strap bracelet options, watches arrive from the factory for sale with fixed options. Much too complicated for a casual hobby.

Is this a single pass? I have an olive colored single pass canvas strap from haveston and it pairs amazingly well with my Sea Dweller and now my Willard.
