Thanks. I wear a tie to work more out of habit and mindset more than anything else. Our company (and industry) went ‘tie-less’ around 10-15 years ago but it’s a nice routine in the morning to tie a knot. I’ve always blamed an ill-fitting shirt collar as opposed to a tie knot for any discomfort - I suppose it’s just what one is used to. I’m sure if I worked in a warmer climate then the tie wouldn’t be such a common occurrence in my work attire
Just prop the phone camera against something and set the timer. If you have a phone with multiple lenses, just make sure you know the distances that you’re trying to capture (it’s just a matter of trial and error, I’m afraid). The half body shots are normally done with the wide lens but if the camera is looking up at an angle, you do have to correct the geometry of the image otherwise the parts nearer the phone will be abnormally distorted (wide angle). For closer shots I prefer the telephoto lens on the phone - there’s less distortion and appears more natural to how the eye sees things. The trade off with (my) telephoto lens is that it’s not as sharp as the wide so a well lit area is required. I don’t tend to use the digital zoom as the resolution is just horrible even on a phone screen. Add to that, all images are edited for colour balancing, contrast, crop, sharpness etc. I think it’s possible to buy a tiny sticker that could go on the back of the phone with a mirror/reflective side so you could see yourself, if you are unfamiliar with the lens distance/s
Apologies - my mistake lol!
Thank You for the nice compliment - its a corduroy jacket and grenadine striped tie with an Old Bertie knot if that helps
For me buying/owning watches is just one particular aspect of this hobby. Its fun learning and seeing other people’s watches too.
As far as buying goes, I try to set out a two year (ish) map of of how I want to divert my watch funds. Sometimes I deviate sometimes I’m pretty dead set on my ‘route’. I don’t really experience things like FOMO so if a watch I want to own, passes me by, then it just wasn’t to be. I tend to like certain types of watches as opposed to particular models so I’m pretty flexible. I’m more fixated on wearing and learning more about my own collection than stuff I don’t yet own
