Bulova Lunar Pilot on Acrylic
Good day guys! I haven’t seen much Lunar Pilot posts on here so I’d like to share mine!
Its the Lunar Pilot 45mm no date with polished case that I placed on a jubilee strap. Within 6 months of ownership I managed to chunk a piece of the sapphire slab 😬
My friend was able to source a flat sapphire crystal from EU but would take 2 weeks so I found a local watch technician who can replace it with domed acrylic for the meantime. Ive always been a fan of acrylic (scratches be damned 🤣) because I like that old world warm look.
On this watch the domed acrylic looks great and even though I have the replacement sapphire I’ll keep it on acrylic as I love how it looks.
Love chronographs and all watches. Not a collector just a guy who likes watches

Acrylic was the apogee of crystal tech … it's all been downhill since.

I love the “old world warm look” of domed glass too, amazing looking Lunar Pilot, it looks like the watch has its own astronaut helmet on picture #2. 🧑🚀

Love the looks but overall I keep seeing different versions of this watch pop up sometimes like an archive edition amongst others. Is there a specific one to look out for?

The odd flat raised (not domed/ flat sided not rounded) sapphire on my Lunar Pilot Panda is the only thing I would change. I didn't realize changing to a hesalite crystal was an option. The hesalite looks great and now this is more moon-worthy. Local technician indeed! ❤
It’s such a beautiful watch! I owned one for a bit but it just didn’t wear right on my wrist sadly
This looks so much better than the stock crystal. I've been thinking about buying a lunar pilot, this is pushing me closer.

AFAIK the versions are 45mm date, brushed with modern bulova logo, 45mm no date polished with vintage bulova logo(what I have), the titanium anniversary edition two tone, and the two 43mm new releases. Plus the newest meteorite dial
