What is the best watchmaking country in your opinion?

My favorite is probably Swiss.
The best is china.
Japan win by slight margin. They have Seiko, Grand Seiko, Credor, Citizen, Casio, Orient and many cool other microbrands. I think if you take Casio/G-Shock out it would be a tie with Switzerland. They do not have anything that competes with G-Shock Casio especially at the price point and specs. Now if you say High-end watch brands only or high end movements and complications. Everyone would get slapped around by the Swiss market. Also in 10 years China might need a spot on that list.
Best in terms of horology I'd go with Switzerland.
Otherwise China.

Very broad question indeed...also very subjective,,,its also given me a headache 🤣🤣🤣 id take a grand Seiko over any swiss watch all day...but swiss do have an unbelievable heritage,,but so do Seiko 🤣🤣🤣
If you held a gun to my head and chose id have to say japan,,,but i might say swiss. 😭😭😭😭
Czechoslovakia is the best country that makes watches.
Looking at most of my collection most of my favorite watches are Japanese
England - Roger Smith, George Daniels. Certainly among the very Best 🇬🇧

Yea, best and favorite aren't the same. Most of my watches were made in China and they are amazing. 🫠

I love Swiss designs, but best is not favorite.
Looking at my collection the answer has to be Japan. But that does not tell the entire story either, I also like German, Swiss, and others.
