Tag Link

I’ve had this watch for 20+ years. I wanted it entirely for the bracelet, which is never been remotely a deciding factor for any other watch I own. Between the novel system and the brushed metal alternating with polished, the strap defines the watch more than the watch itself. Thoughts about the last watch and bracelet Tag designed before being Swatchified?

It's def unique! Rock it if you like it and to hell with any haters. It sort of makes me want to watch a movie like the Fifth Element or Indiana Jones or something . . . there's a mystical/lost artifact quality to it.

What do u mean swatchified?

Don’t like the Link, just my opinion. Wear what looks good to You. Really like TAG. Have couple Carrera Chronographs.

I meant LVMH-ified. Had swatch on the brain for some reason.

I had a blue TAG Heuer 1000 in the early 1990s. Not only was it the most beautiful watch I ever owned, it may have been the most beautiful thing I ever owned. Wish I still had it.

I sold a bunch of these in the 00’s, especially the Tiger Woods edition. Always liked the Link design. I absolutely hated sizing these though.

Swatchified? Really??

The link bracelet ,as much of a pain it was to size, is iconic.

I always thought it would be a watch the xenomorph from Alien would enjoy wearing if the xenomorph wore a watch.

Before the Link was the S/el (pictured here with my wife's old 2000 series). The thing started running as soon as I picked it up! TAGs were quite the thing in the 90s, I remember when I bought this turning my nose up at a not that much more expensive Rolex Explorer 😪

Back then Rolexes were seen as “uncle” watches (i.e. watches for stodgy old men). Hindsight is 20/20.
