Finally got a birthyear watch

So, ever since I gave my girlfriend my 70s Omega rectangular de Ville, I've had a vintage Omega-shaped hole in my heart. I finally was able to fill that hole today when I got this wonderful Omega daydate automatic. I've been told by my vintage girl that the year of production was 1975, my birthyear. I got no reason to doubt her but the Omega website lists 166.0209 as being produced in 1978. Vintage girl says the movement inside has the actual year. I'll take her word for it. We've done enough business together that I don't feel the need to verify.

It ultimately doesn't matter. What's a couple of years?

I really love this watch and, like I said, it fills a void. Its 34mm case is just the perfect fit for me and it comes with its original signed bracelet. I do think I'll replace it though (the bracelet I mean) not because it's uncomfortable--it's very comfortable--but because I'm more into leather (that's what she said) than steel.

I've also got another watch from Vintage Girl but the NWA on that will need to wait. That's it.

Very cool indeed 😎

After a birth year Omega myself, got a Mariner 1 but later discovered it wasn't released until 1976 (I'm 1970) 🤣 but it's a lovely quirky piece so I'm having it restored anyway. The hunt continues......
