I preferred the David Lynch version of Dune - much darker; better cast; less Hollywood.
And a fantastic novel.

I can't wait either. I went to watch it to the cinema, but my poor English mixed with the lo volume of the voices made me no understand a thin of what was said. Still, I loved the movie. Then I had to subscribe to HBO just for being able to watch it again... Twice. I loved it.

IMHO, outside of the horrible Toto, Brian Eno, et al, soundtrack, the 1984 version is the better movie. The remake totally screwed up the Paul Atreides character.
Not all sci fi nerds like the new one.

Totally understand folks preferring the David Lynch version. I am a huge Denis Villenueve fan in general - so probably a soft spot for me there.
