Hi Watchchrunchers ๐,
It's been a while since I joined this amazing community and I haven't posted anything until now.
I do not own a collection that's worth sharing tbh and in fact most of my watches are affordable. I declare myself a Duro Marlin enthusiast and have been wearing the classic black and the blue version for most of the time during the last couple of years.
I always wanted to buy a Seiko, I fell in love with the brand, but couldn't decide on any specific model until I stumbled upon the Seiko Solar Prospex SNE573P1.
I got it yesterday and it is on the smaller side with its 38,5 mm size. Even being smaller than the watches I usually wear, I think it looks pretty good.
I haven't found a lot of posts about this watch, it doesn't have a mechanical movement, but I do not really care that much about movements tbh. A solar watch is great as it will not require a change of battery and I've read that fully charged it will keep running up to 10 months in the absolute absence of light, which I think is amazing.
I attach two wrist shots (not the best pictures though). I hope you can enjoy this post as much as I am enjoying this watch ๐
Greetings from Spain ๐ช๐ธ
Hope everyone has an amazing weekend ๐

Muy bien, gracias ๐
Hey, Antonio! Welcome aboard.
Sure, itโs worth sharing! This place is mostly comprised of enthusiasts that appreciate everything from affordable to unobtainable. Share away! Oh and nice Seiko!
Great watch, a Diver's 200m no less.
As you said, solar movements are a great choice, no battery changes for a really long time. As for the size, be careful, you might start preferring smaller cases after wearing this one for a while ๐
Congratulations!
Hola Antonio Greetings from Mexico, do not be shy in this group it is not judged if you have many or few and if you have high-end or not, so here you can post all your watches, i have 9 Seiko but all mecanic automatic

I use to wear smaller watches during the cold months as they fit better under a shirt. Here in Spain the Summer is known to last for most part of the year, so it always feels kinda weird to come back to smaller size watches, but hey... They are great as well ๐

9 Seikos sounds like a nice collection ๐.
I'll be definitely posting more soon. Thanks Manny.

That combo looks great
Great choice! Itโs a strap monster for sure.

Great looking watch. I've been going back and forth between this Seiko solar and a citizen promaster diver. Decisions decisions ๐คท
Welcome, Antonio! Iโve had this model for about a year and love it. Itโs my first solar, and the convenience of that is a big win imo
Welcome to the CRUNCH! Love that Seiko Solar, gteeat first choice ๐
Another brother of your watch says hello!
I would honestly post and flex that Marlin here on watchcrunch ๐ฅ Thatโs a great Seiko choice, they do a pretty incredible job of making even the biggest of their watch models fit nice on the wrist. Welcome to watchcrunch ๐ค
Bienvenido al Crunch!
Everyone's collection is important to them, doesn't matter what the cost. I don't shop at the high-end of the market, but still love the watches I've accrued. ๐
Such a great watch, my friend! Fantastic choice and congrats, wear it in good health!
Welcome and feel free to share what you like. I was strongly considering the solar Seikos but decided against the diver format. I was also looking at the Seiko Speed Timer chronographs. Those were cool too.
Welcome ๐
Hey, all watch collections are worth sharing! We donโt discriminate here ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ cool looking seikos! ๐

I really like the Citizen NY0040-09W. In fact I was thinking about buying that one before the Seiko.

Nice one! I was thinking about buying your version, but decided for the all black last minute ๐

I was waiting for a good deal on a solar watch and loved Seiko, so it all came together nicely. I was interested in a G-shock DW-H5600-1, but I have already 3 G-shocks and I love divers ๐

Where did you pick up the SNE569?

Creation watches. Online only and they are not an AD, but I was hooked by the discount. Still comes with a warranty card, but just means I have to send it directly back to Seiko if there are any issues. Being quartz, I thought it a worthwhile gamble for a 100 quid saving.

Did you ever make that decision? A question that comes up is the quality and durability differences between Seiko and Citizenโs solar technology - which is better?

I tried on a Promaster and it wears very nice. I still need to try out Seiko (the diver and possibly the new GMT Alpinist). I haven't put down my money yet, but I'm leaning towards the Citizen Promaster. I think I just like the color way better, and I already have a red rubber nato that would look great with the Pepsi bezel.
