How large is this community really?

I see a lot of the same faces and people here. Are we really that big of a circle jerk, or are my posts just not reaching a lot of other users?

I'd be curious to see some numbers...

I’ve heard 1800ish, but really have no idea if that’s accurate

Next time that someone posts a poll that gets a lot of responses click on one of the answers and see all those who responded. You will see a lot of profiles that you haven't previously seen post or comment. I think that the 80/20 rule applies: 80% of the visible activity is done by 20% of the users.

The rule that applies to digital communities is the 1-9-90 rule 😅

Welcome to the 1%

I haven’t seen any official numbers. If I understand it correctly there are over 31K ”followers” of #seiko, which I imagine must be one of the largest tags. How many of these that are still, or ever been, active is for everyones speculation.

The Micro brand tournament showed some interesting info because the polls were getting ~1500 votes each time. I think the highest was ~1900?

Considering that was the biggest thing going on on the site for those weeks, always at the top of the "Top" feed, i'd guess that's how many active people are on here on the regular.
