SOTC 2024 And Suggestions

Hi all! New to watchcrunch and relatively new to this watch collecting addiction. I've recently gotten to the point where I'm running low on slots in my case. It's an arbitrary 24 slots but I honestly didn't think I'd get so close, so fast to filling it 😬. I think I'd largely like to stick to one watch per brand and also to not have any pieces overlap too much. That's how I'm justifying this to myself, however feeble that is.

Wondering what everyone's favs and keepers are! Thanks!

Hi! Welcome. Your collection looks quite amazing, but the photo is kinda hard to focus on. Maybe you could post them in closer, smaller shots? I’m pretty sure I can see some very interesting watches. 😃

·

Wow what a collection! I love that Farer moonphase and that Zenith chronograph is incredible. When you say you’re new to watch collecting how new are you because that truly is an amazing collection.

·

Nice collection!

Haha I tried to take better shots but... shiny watches are... shiny? I'll try to do a better job tomorrow. It's getting rather late hehe

Welcome and amazing collection. If new, maybe slow down and take more time to ensure you’re buying what you like vs what you’re supposed to like. Or maybe you know and have the resources, in which case I say have at it. Check out the WRUW tab, dig into some of the discussions, but don’t be in a rush to fill it, because you’ll just want more once you do.

Haha a few years now, roughly 4 or so? Some years saw a lot more additions than others

Absolutely! The goal is to definitely slow down and to be much more intentful with what gets added in (and subsequently what gets taken out). Thankfully, all of the higher end pieces had a lot more thought and associated milestones attached to them. Not every single one, but most of them 😬

First off Welcome and Wow that's a good start you have. I like the AnOrdain, Cartier, Explorer, and the Black Bay Burgandy. If you need someone to give them some wrist time, let me know. Seriously, a good-looking collection. My advice would be to slow down. You have a good spectrum of watches and can get a good feel as to what you really like, so concentrate on quality (pieces that you love and make you smile) over quantity. You only have two wrists that you can wear them on.

Great collection 👍

#welcome and impressive collection.

Fair enough! I look forward to seeing them. 😃

My fav is the GS white birch 🤍 Stunning collection btw.

·

Great variety, wonderful collection

·

Wow! Throw in a rose gold Reverso and a blue dial Monaco and then close the box and say mischief managed!

·

Lovely collection! I have 6 of those watches myself. Have a look at my 24 and see if anything suggests itself.

Awesome collection. You say you are newly bugged. How long did it take to collect these ?

·

Nice collection! What do you find yourself wearing the most?

·

Excellent selection, thanks for showing them off!

I’m around the same size as you (17cm) and, from what I’ve read, that is on the cusp between the 36 and 38 being the better fit. Pretty conflicted which way to go. Not easy to find anywhere near me to try them on either

I think watches of Switzerland carries Nomos. I'd skew 38 on this one, more dial and more splash. But can't go wrong either way

I was eyeing that LE straum and sadly missed it. Impressive collection yourself. Any advice for someone who wants to have 1/16th of your collection?

Fantastic collection. Would love to see shots of the farer moonphase and your thoughts on it

·

Most important is to buy what you like. For me sometimes that's a VC or Rolex. Sometimes it's an Orient. There are great watches at all price points.

Lately I've been drawn to the more unique. Whether it's a dial like that LE Straum, or the Studio Underd0g Pizza Party. I've currently got an order in for an RGM PS-801-EE, and I just bought one of the 10 unique colors pieces that Neil Duckworth made for the recent British Watchmakers event (I'll post pics when it arrives.)

Enjoy the research, the hunt, the purchase process and most of all the wearing!

Amen brother. I can jive with that. It's more of a reflection point as others have said. Reassess what I need, or want and plot a path forward. Thanks for the sage advice nonetheless 👍

Here it is - the Duckworth Prestex LE No.1 of 1. Pink - really more Salmon hued. In connection with the British Watchmakers event recently held in London.

You sir, are the definition of class. I can only aspire to reach your level one day

Thanks.

I'm sure you are building a nice collection as well. Buy what you like and enjoy whatever you get!

A Panerai, a Studio Underdog or Brew Metric will be something different 😎

Great collection!

Great collection!

I've looked into Studio Underdog, Brew and Panerai actually. I liked the Luminor Due Luna, with that sweet, sweet rose gold moon (i'm a sucker for moons). The water resistance at 30m is throwing me off. It'd have been a no brainer if it was the radiomir line, but that water resistance with the oversized side crown guards just didn't make sense to me. I do like the sandwich dial look though. Just like our Studio Underdog's recent field models.
