commented onI’ve got MANY watches on my list to acquire this year. Below are four pieces of varying styles in immediate contention.·
Three of those watches: the pointer date, the 556, and the GSAR are all watches that have been on my (very long) short list of watches to buy. Recently purchased the Monta Noble instead. But the 556i is probably the one I’d go with if that selection, pointer date a close second. Also, am I the only one who hates the Maxbill!?
commented onHow often do you use the chrono function in real life?·
I’ve found I use my dive watch rotating bezel far more than a chronograph. Not for anything that needs precise timing. But for example, when I tell my kiddo that we have 10 more minutes for bath time, I’ll set my bezel and roughly time it that way. For some reason that seems easier than using a chronograph 🤷♂️
Love it! Gotta choose to buy what speaks to you. Fits perfectly on your wrist.
I recently purchased a Monta Noble. For it being my first “expensive” watch, I was worried that I should be buying a bigger brand, the likes of Longines, Hamilton, even NOMOS or Sinn. But in my 12+ months of looking and going through phases of loving different watches, I always came back to the Noble, so I knew it had to be the one. Congrats on making your purchase as well!
You mentioned you like bang for your buck, do you generally buy pre-owned? What’s your buying experience been like? Watches arriving as described? Any issues
Really like the Baumé and Mercier, Traska and Nomos. 👍
