Integrated sports watches

I’m considering an integrated piece of some kind. Always wanted a royal oak and a nautilus but idk where im going to get the money from. I’ve considered stuff like the Maurice Lacroix Aikon, the prx, the Frédérique constant highlife, and maybe a mido tv big date (I know it’s not integrated but it’s a similar vibe to the nautilus). Would love some opinions on all of these pieces. My budget isn’t huge, probably around 1500 at a maximum (I’ll probably be buying second hand for that reason).

The FC really has something cool going on with it. Jomashop had the black dial, I think, for $995 the last time I looked.

·

Will highly recommended #direnzo model 04.

Hardness coated H-Link is the most comfortable bracelet I own (everything under $1000).

It’s my fav watch (and I’m a massive fanboy of the brand) ✌️

Used Arken Instrumentum?

VC vibes and Ti to boot.

I like the fc because it’s not as on the nose as the aikon. 995 ain’t bad either if I’m being honest. And I trust jomashop more than some rando on eBay

Looks huge. Also not a fan of the more diver style bezel

I will say again I’m a fanboy, and I have models 03, 04 (the best), 05, & 02-reissue. And I’ve met Sergio Direnzo (owner). It’s a one man passion project (I think his sister helps 🤗).

The quality and the fit and finish has improved continuously since his last kickstarter (model 03). He also continuous improved the AR, and Lume. They all have Sellita 200 elaborate grade with upgraded shock protection.

So yeah… do some research online, but I can’t recommend them enough ✌️

Due the PRX or the FC. If you do the PRX get the quartz though. I think it is better and more traditional to the original which was quartz

·

Pre Owned Omega Constellation, it is every bit a sport watch in my opinion.

It’s very nice but I’m looking into maybe a speedmaster after the integrated watch. Idk if I want my whole collection to be omega

·

FC is so cool and so underappreciated. A Highlife is absolutely in my future!

Fair enough, of what you listed, I like the PRX best probably, there is also the Christopher Ward 12.

The FC is sharp, but I have seeen the texture part of the dial with the moon phase sundial and it looks like a hot air balloon and basket, can’t unsee it now, sorry.

You ruined it for me. Thanks. Completely forgot about the 12 though, might also be an option

I have PRX.. after a few days, I couldn’t get used to the bracelet.. got a Delugs and it feels amazing.

Seeing as you are in NY this may help. Take a trip up to Woodbury Commons. They have a citizens outlet there which of course have Frederique Constant. you can probably find a highlife there well under that 1500, as thats where I got mine.

As far as an honest take for the FC, its a "staple" in my rotation with the rubber strap on it. it keeps great time and its always fun to look down at.

·

Agreed the CW12 looks like a great option. Have you considered the Zentier Z5 Ultra-Thin? https://zentier.com/products/z5-ultra-thin-white

Looks very nicely finished and at 7.9mm it should give you a great wearing experience. Photo from their website.

Don't think I could rock an integrated bracelet watch but I've always thought the Citizen Tsuyosa is pretty cool, a fraction of your budget too.

·

It mght be a little lower end of what you have in mind, but in April new citizen tsuyosas are coming out and they look amazing.

·
Hodonkee

Which have you got, the PRX or the FC?

On my wrist the FC wears more like the traditional 39 - 40mm, so I'd say the FC actually wears small.

I say let's just agree to disagree 🤝 nothing wrong with different perspectives and views.

My view, for what it’s worth, go for something at the lower end of the price range here because I’m thinking the integrated look may feel dated in a couple of years. Trendy now, but maybe less so later. Then at least you’re not stuck with a watch that no longer feels right but which cost a ton of money. So the answer is, buy a quartz PRX.

I reckon quartz is a good idea if you're going to buy a PRX but I'm not so sure that integrated bracelet sports watches will tire.

New takes keep getting released and they keep selling, whether it's VC and IWC or CW and Nivada Grenchen, they can't seem to make them quick enough.

I have a sneaking suspicion that they've become a staple in the 'gotta have a diver, a field / expedition watch, a chronograph, an int bracelet sports watch ...' sense.

Could be, let's discuss again in 3 years 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Absolutely. ☻

I was interested in your experience more than anything cause one of the things that struck me about the FC is how compact it wears for its size.

Is yours 39mm or 41mm?

Really apologize if I did, but I’d hate to get it and realize that right afterwards.

·

They have a black dial without the globe and you get a leather strap with it.

Boom, there it is then. Extra strap is like a second watch bonus

I've only tried it on (the 41mm) and own the 40mm PRX. Both felt larger than traditional watches but PRX definitely wears much bigger. 😁

Christopher Ward Twelve?

Forgot it existed but I’ll probably end up with one. The dials are absolutely insane

·

Yes, Royal Oak Rose Gold with black bracelet is stunning. I found it to be not a nice watch until I seen one in person in a casino. A girl player next to me had one.

A few more suggestions for you.

I have Blue Citizen Tsuyosa. This is an automatic watch

Different dials and case types are available but I do not have this one.
