Thoughts on the new Tudor Ranger?

I actually think it’s a pretty decent value proposition with the in-house movement, case proportions, t-fit clasp, and how comfortable it sits on wrist😁

Oh really?! Haha I actually like the hour hand😂 guess that’s what makes watch collecting so interesting and enjoyable! We all appreciate different styles and designs😊

I love it.  Picked one up last Friday.  As usual, photos don't do it justice.  And I agree, it wears so comfortably.  I really love the bracelet.

·

I love the case and the braclet, the dial is just not for me. Maybe i would like it more if they did the hands and the numerals in "normal" white instead of this guilted yellowish white...

I've heard that it has special links or something? T-links or something like that?

For me, it doesn't captivate. But hey, I will celebrate with you nonetheless. Cheers! 🍻

I hope it inspires Tudor to stop with the faux rivets, but I don't like the color of the markers

Saw it at the store a few days ago. I tried it on And played with the clasp. I think it was a great watch. Went by to buy it and it was gone. There is always next time.

I tried it on at a boutique today, and sadly despite the 39mm diameter, the lugs actually are quite flat and do not wrap around my wrist. I find this a little bit annoying so I don’t think I’ll go for it. That said, I absolutely agree that it has its vintage charms and it is great value for money considering the brand and the quality

Quite honestly, I think everything outwards of the dial is pretty darned close to objectively ideal. The case proportions wear really well, and the brushed finish (with a subtle ring of polish just around the outer edge of the bezel) looks great. The bracelet seems to have gotten everything right also -- it has a solid feel, articulated end links, nice gradual taper, no shiny parts, no rivets, and the T-fit clasp is wonderful, especially in this warm weather.

The movement is held in high regard, and seems like a good upgrade from the ETA/Sellita alternatives. I'm not an expert here.

I can see why the dial is divisive. It's very plain and flat and monochromatic, and I fully understand the criticism it has received from some.

That said, I personally love the dial also. The handset is distinctive, legible, and looks super cool to me. The numeral font is weird and funky, but adds some needed personality. The crystal has a nice dome to it, with some fun distortions at the right angle. The yellow-y paint color works for me -- I don't see it as green, as some have mentioned, and I also don't think a stark white would have looked good. I like the warmth of this color. And there's so much restraint! No novella on the dial. No snowflake hands. It's the simplicity and clarity and straightforwardness that makes it work for me. I get that it's not for everyone, but I have other watches that are more fancy or more three-dimensional. I'm glad that this one has held onto its distinct identity and presents as a very classic design, but with all the modern niceties.

Ah I believe you’re referring to the T-fit clasp which allows for on the fly adjustment up to 8mm😊

Sounds sweet. I feel like my wrist size tends to change frequently.

I love this watch.  It's 1st on my list of what to buy for the collection.  It's simple and cool. I purchased an Explorer I this year. Love it and gave it to my daughter.  Call me crazy,  and I am. The Ranger will do it for me. The dimensions and bracelet are awesome. The gold numerals on the Explorer are beautiful and at times over bling drawing the wrong attention at the wrong moment.

I seriously considered the previous Ranger but I was uncomfortable getting a watch over 40mm.  The 39mm however checks a lot of boxes for me. Like others, I wish the dial had more color and ‘smiley face’ text but I’m willing to see the watch in person before making that judgement.  My only hesitation is getting this version, then within the next year or two, Tudor releases a 36mm.

Your observations are on point and more credible than any of the YouTube video/reviews out there!
95% of the reviewers didn’t even have the Ranger in hand 😂
