NWA Bertucci Ventara
I saw this watch in a local outfitter store back in December of 2023. I was reluctant to buy it as it was an A-2S case just with a different handset and numerals. Plus, I was still getting my chronographs.
I would stop in and pester the sales person so I could look at the watch, but wasn't sure if I liked it. I had just about written it off, when I started thinking about why I was hesitating.
I realized that I was reluctant because the hands were different than any of my other watches. One thing people can get stuck in is familiarity, so when I realized that was what I was doing, I decided to mix it up just a little and get the watch.
I had been casually looking on the internet and hadn't found one for sale anywhere else, grey market or eBay, so that made it a bit more interesting to me. Apparently it wasn't super popular, so everyIone doesn't have one!
SOOO, I went in yesterday and got it. However, the battery was dead!! It had been sitting there so longthat it had worn itself out! The sales person said the manager was out of town and that she couldn't approve the discount I had suggested to make up for the battery. She said she could hold it for me and the manager would replace the battery when he got back. Well, I had already hem-hawed around for 4 months and was set to just get the dang watch, so I went ahead and bought it anyway, stopped by the Ace hardware store and $5 and 5 min later I had a working watch!
The strap is from my Bertucci A-6A, and I had been using it on my A-2S, but I think it looks better on this with the monochrome dial and handset. I also like the squared off hands that reach out and touch the indices, lining up with the squares beneath the numerals.

It is the C-1T. Polished titanium case. What attracted it to me initially was the case shape. It is a very cool watch.
