What watch should I get?

I am looking for a military style watch (quartz or solar), no dive style watches, date would be great, and in the $100-200 range (or cheaper). Some companies I lI’ve are Timex, seiko, and Casio. I would love suggestions.

I like my Timex Expedition North Field Post 41 solar. I know, it's a mouthful.

The Timex Expedition line, and in particular the Expedition North Solar are good choices.

I was thinking about that watch, thank you so much for recommending it, I feel way more confident about that watch and possibly buying it  now! Thank you!

Again, thanks!!!!!!

I would throw Orient into the mix as well; although they have raised prices, I think they still have some in that range.

On a budget I would go with the Timex Expedition Solar or if you want to get an automatic go with the Seiko SNK809.

This seiko was my first automatic.

For $160 you get a titanium case (ultra light and nice on the skin), solar powered, sapphire crystal (for scratch resistance), radio controlled (always on time), digital timers, 5 alarms, day date, world time and an orange LED light (easy on the eyes at night which is really important to me). Sizing is perfect in my opinion. 9mm thick, 44mm lug to lug, 38mm case (40mm wide when including the button guards). And it's only 28g (1oz) with an ultra flat/wide caseback so comfort is amazing. And it comes in around 20 different versions. It's pretty much the most feature packed high spec watch ever (especially if you care about titanium which I do).

For a quartz field watch I’sd look at Bertucci. Titanium 200m of water resistance for 155. They’ve got a huge range, no solar as far as I’m aware but they are very good here’s they’re A2

Just one thing to think about a lot of their watches have fixed lug pins so for some of them you’re a little restricted in what straps you can use.

I would suggest looking at Citizen, there Eco-Drive is great.

AW5000-16L (this is the one i own, no complaints)

There is also Vaer at this price point. Tidy size, screw down crown, sapphire crystal. Bonus band.

How is the lume on it?

No where nearly as good as my Seiko or Spinniker. The lume on those guys last almost all night. The Timex has lume only on the hour/minute hands.

What is the watch called?

My specific version is the LCW-M100TSE-1A2ER

But you can see all 20 if you search LCW on Casio Japan then click the see all results button.

Ok, thanks so much!
