commented onHamilton Khaki Auto - Bracelet vs. Strap (Versatility?)·
I have the Hammy and went through the same decision. I went with the brown strap. My initial impression was why didn’t I get the bracelet. Within a couple of weeks, the bracelet thoughts completely left me and I was all in for the brown strap. This was two years ago, and the Hammy is my favorite watch even more so than several costing many times over.
As an aide, several hours ago, as I was laying out items for today, the Hammy was the first thing laid out, along side my wallet, keys and iPhone.
I have many of the watches mentioned here and one standout has been my Luminox Navy Seal. I’ve had it about a decade and it’s been beat to hell (Shows it but keeps going).
Both watches, because of shape, show variety and a different character. At least one is needed in everyone’s accumulation (I have a Seiko in that shape, but now I’m looking for another).
My then 18 year old daughter wanted a Shinola about 4 or 5 years ago for Christmas. Bought it and it looked nice. She wears it frequently, and a few months back, I had to change the battery, so I gave it a “look see”. Still very nice!
I suspect this was a good year for watch sellers with demand exceeding supply, hence time OK to raise pricing.
I used a very un-scientific method, with that being tracking price and delivery on several brands on Amazon (gray market). This morning pricing is highest and delivery is weeks, with brands being Seiko (all price levels) and Longines (higher end).
