Invicta actually makes some watches that appeal to a Broader demographic than SHAQ

So I purchased the Invicta 1953 a couple months ago and have been very pleased with it. I utilized a discount code to bring the price down which now provides me with Daily updates on all their amazing deals😂 I'm a glutton for punishment, so instead of junking them or even not perusing them. I always peek hoping today is the day they show a watch I think is cool!..... Nope! Like looking for a lost puppy I'm deflated everyday upon seeing the same Monster truck size Transformer like watches.

Then a fellow Cruncher @barcelet posted an Invicta he had found that I thought was pretty interesting. So I went to Invicta's site and after a seemingly endless search of the entire inventory listed. Nothing! Not one watch I liked.

But then I found them on their site ShopHQ and ordered one. Once I got it and confirmed I liked i. I used the description from that listing to find a Vintage series that they have been doing for a little while. To my surprise there were a few that I thought were Nice looking watches with reasonable case sizes.

It almost seem's that Invicta is afraid that someone might find out they make watches 44mm and smaller. I mean Shaq could use one for a Pinky Ring!

So here's the one I got "Invicta Vintage 41mm Quartz Triple Time Zone" Not a chronograph! and a few others that I think are perfectly wearable and great watches for the money. The Largest is 44mm.

There were others but I didn't want to do too much PR for Invicta.

I would love to hear what other Crunchers think about the one's I posted

I mean Invicta USED to be a reputable watch manufacturer, so they do have some history to draw from.

The problem with Invicta for a watch enthusiast the last 30 years has & will always be the gaudy garbage and their deceptive, yet somehow legal, marketing & pricing games.

Apparently there's more money to be made in gaudy garbage than trying to compete with the big boys.

Those are not terrible looking watches, I’m surprised. I’m definitely more familiar with Invictas that look like this

The Invicta that USED to be a reputable manufacturer is not related , in any way ,shape, or form to the company that now bears the name.  In 1991 Eyal Lalo bought the rights to the name. The original Invicta was long dead at that point.

With tha being said I own and enjoy the 1953 which is  an Invicta anomaly.

I feel like this may offend me... I feel violated by seeing this picture in our  nerdy safe space. My god man... could you imagine pulling this out of a drawer and thinking, 'This looks pretty good. I'll wear this today.' You'd have to be a sociopath.

That being said, yes some of the more earthling-styled  Invictas do looks quite nice. I got to see a pro-diver for the first time up close recently and they're nice. I was impressed, but these abominations... you might as well be posting pictures of kittens getting beheaded. Just disturbing.

I feel like you were looking at a totally different watch. I posted an elegant black and gold creation of the gods.

Humongous buys of NH movements. Must have cleaned the factory in Malaysia's stock for a month or sonething like that considering I can't see any NHs that's marked Malaysia.

That or they're sharing warehouse space/transportation with something. Do we know what the parent company does?

I don’t know how they can sell a 1953 for $59.90, what I paid for mine.

It was gaining about 25 seconds a day, so for the first time I took off the case back and adjusted the movement twice. It’s just about spot on 30 hours on, I’m very pleased…

Why would you ever put a watch like this in a drawer?
