Is it worth the extra?

I really like the nomos club line, the club sport polar/petrol are perfect. The problem is I'm not sure about the hands on the white campus and the cali dial on the other, but they are considerably less expensive than the club sport models. My head says go for the campus at half the cost of the sport but my heart says don't compromise and wait until I can save the extra.

Save the extra.

I think I would approach it slightly differently. If you didn’t know the price of all 4. Ido t think you could tell. In fact this is my exact issue with Nomos. The club looks so good that it challanges the value of the more expensive watches I.e. why by the more expencive one when th3 cheaper one looks this good.

·

Whats the difference in spec? Why are the others more expensive?

Personally I'd go for the Cali dial anyway as I like it the most aesthetically. 🤔

·

I'm gonna be honest here

I think the campus is the way better deal, I don't see the value or added cost of the sport model,

nomos looks so much better on the strap. The campus is also THE nomos model, it's the one that everyone knows.

If it was my money I would be buying the campus

The campus is definitely the better deal and that's what my head is telling me.

The sport has a display caseback, is an automatic and I prefer the dial. To be honest the first 2 points are preference but not important and the nomos cali dial is pretty nice as they go.

If the white dial didn't have orange hands that would be the answer, although there is a grey dial version of that which may be the way to go. Although this exact watch is for sale by 3 different ebay stores in Japan 😯

Ah, yes I'd prefer the auto & display caseback too 👍👍

much prefer the campus as it looks just a bit different. if it is a bit cheaper then thats fine, but, if you dont like it then it might as well be free. why would you bother wearing something you are not happy with?

the rest look a bit more run of the mill to my eyes, perhaps that is just me. the cheaper campus would be the one for me even if they were all the same price.

i would swap out that clunky looking strap though.

The Dunkel is a hard to get piece in 36mm and probably IMHO the best club they’ve made. If only the lugs weren’t shorter. Really dislike lug strap gap between case and strap.

The sport models whilst more expensive have the better specs. Full in house auto be movement. Bracelet & no gap.

·

I would go for the non-sport model. The bracelet is a good direction for the brand but it's execution is too dressy and won't age well. The clasp of the sport version is fully polished. That alone gives me pause in getting it. Plus, my personal preference is the Cali dial.

I hope you resolve your dilemma and enjoy your watch! Whether it's this one or any other model you like 😊

It's not that I dislike the cali dial I just prefer the sport dial but then I prefer a good deal and the better deal is the campus.

It would be my dress watch, as its about as much of a dress watch as I need.

You already know the answer if you are asking this questions. Save up and get what you want. That said, if you don’t mind hunting, there are many discontinued or limited club versions that might interest. Some might have inflated prices due to scarcity but I imagine you could find some good buys as well.

·

Save the extra $, you don’t want to spend good money on something you’re not completely satisfied with.

·

Which size do you like best, 36 or 42?

Got with that.

·

In general, would say save for the one you really want 💪🏻

·

Personally, I couldn't take the mix of Arabic and Roman numerals as it messes with my head. So any of the others for me.

They do the 42 in 39

That's the thing both have things I like about them. I guess I'll just keep hunting, it's better that way. The longer the hunt the more I tend to like the watch.

The campus are hand winding only and the bigest is 38mm , i prefer the new 39mm neomatik , smoke grey, i love the petrol and polar but they are only 37mm , Nomos need to stop with all the confusing sizes and specs , I reckon they are loosing sales. My ideal would be a 39mm, petrol, neomatik, 200m.

Petrol, polar and tobacco are my favourite dials and the 37/38/39 are all fine. If I get a good deal I'd be happy with the campus or the sport.

I usually dislike cali dials but I'm OK with them on Nomos, I think because it only has IV and VIII and still looks quite symmetrical. It might also be because of the fun colours on the campus. Maybe I should fully embrace the nomos style and get the green or orange campus.

·

I do like the orange hands, so that would be my choice. 😀

Hi there, i own a Nomos 713 Club Campus and it is by far my favorite watch. But i have seen the Club Sport in real life as well and had the oppurtunity to compare them in person. Do not let them fool you. Those two are very different watches. The Club and Club Campus are handwound, 100m wr with a mate dial and a splash of colour, it is a watch, which does not take itself to serious. The Club Sport is more like the older more serious brother, being automatic, 200m wr, with a sunburst dial and a radiation effect on the small seconds and with no colour akzents except at the neomatik writing. It is not as much fun as a Club / Club Campus in my honest opinion. It depends on what you want. But trust me, i have seen both next to each other. Very different watches.

I like the campus in 712 and 713 colours and the sport in petrol, polar and tobacco but I think the best compromise is the 703. It has a display caseback, doesn't have a cali dial and I think the orange hands are growing on me.

Sounds like a good compromise😉
