Really CW? Come on a 36mm gmt? The watch even looks too small on the wrist in the AD

Might work well for those with smaller wrists.

·

Didn’t say it wouldn’t.

Might work well for those with smaller wrists.

You do realize the average male wrist is 7-7.5 inches. So that being said being a sport watch and not a dress watch 90% or the people would gravitate towards a 38-42 mm watch.

·

It really just a matter of opinion. I’m 6’4” with a little over 7 inch wrist and I like the way my 36mm sealander wears. 🤷

I do think the gmt might be a bit busy for the smaller case size but I don’t think it’s a miss.

And you do realize Christopher Ward already offers this watch in a 39mm size as well?

This watch is for the smaller wristed men/ladies. If that's not you, fair enough. No reason to rain on their parade, there's literally an option that will fit you already.

·

I like it. It will be a hit with those of a slimmer wrist. The 39 would be for me but I can see my wife loving this new one. Definitely a hot and a good idea!

That is the global average? I believe the average male height world wide is 5'8" - so an average wrist size of 7-7.5 in seems incongruent with the height. I don't know, have not dug around for the stat, so do we have a source?

Think everyone is missing what I was saying in the statement.

Is there a term for taking current trends and pushing them too far?

·

I have no experience with CW watches but view this launch as an attempt to interest the ladies who generally do not consider GMT functions or other complications when shopping for a daily wear. Even as many fellas have been influenced to buy smaller watches, quite a few of my ad friends note a trend with women seeking 36mm and bigger. The Tudor 39mm Pelagos was obviously a move to develop a uni sex watch. My practical sis in law recently purchased a new rose gold Patek dress watch, one that she fully intends to pass along to either a daughter in law or grand daughter in the future. It was 36mm surprising size for a very conservative lady’s dress watch produced by a company like PP.

·

Here we go let me throw exactly what I was saying so yall will understand better jezz

“Really CW? Come on a 36mm?” This means shit now I can’t buy it for me it’s too small

“The watch even look small in the wrist AD” basically you could have at least found a smaller wrist on and for the above if the uni sex was there idea they could have advertised on both wrist. Basically they could have done better for such a great company.

I’m a lover of CW they are my style.

·

Checked out the watch on their site- first CW that really peaks my interest; but probably would go with a Monta GMT as I am familiar and fan of that brand already. Hope they sell a lot though - as I am a big fan of more models sub 40mm.

·

I don't think it looks small in the ad, looks pretty normal.

I like that CW is making smart moves rather than throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks. The 36mm Sealander sells well, so add another option for people that prefer the 36mm size.

Here we go!!

It probably does look normal to people that wear to small of a watch for their wrist

I can do this all day 😁

It appears to have had the desired effect on this thread!

You did come on quite strongly chastising CW ("Really CW? Come on a 36mm gmt?") for making a watch you won't buy.

You could have said "I was hoping to buy this release but I find it too small."

Others could have ignored your over the top chastisement.

Classic internet...

And my friend I explained myself within the next few messages so that it could better be understood if you would read further! And yet you still don’t understand.

I am 5.8 and my wrist is 7.6 all fairly normal I hope 😀

·

As someone small iof wrist I am personally VERY happy to see this release!

Sure, you can do this all day, but the real fun begins when you leave the safe confines of round watches.

Today's WRUW. 25mm. Not my smallest. Real men wear quadrilaterals.

Read through the post brother a little further.

I did read more of your replies my brother, and I responded when you said this:

“You do realize the average male wrist is 7-7.5 inches. So that being said being a sport watch and not a dress watch 90% of the people would gravitate towards a 38-42 mm watch.”

But they already offered a 39mm version, long before this. But even if they didn’t already offer a larger version, I still don’t see the issue with them catering specifically for smaller wrists with one release, when pretty much every other release they have caters to larger wrists. Happy to agree to disagree however 🍻

·

36mm .. yay? Not worthy of fanfare IMO.

What bugged me was the email blitz that had me believing a Zeitwerk style jump minute + diver was being released (some emails teased with water pics, some were a date window looking aperture jumping to ‘36’).

CW has stunned with Canto and others, but this was super anti climactic 🙄😴

You sure did after I told you to. And that was a reply to another. Still not looking at my explanation of why.

And don’t take me for a dumbass my brother. I know they have a 39 already and it’s still to small.

I read most of your responses before I replied, but whatever…and no, I don’t take you for a ‘dumbass’. Have a great weekend my man, no point arguing 🍻

·

This is a clear Rolex Explorer II homage. I like that it’s smaller though. Better execution in my opinion.

·

People who complain about watches not made for them are confusing people... Yes we know you have a big wrist but guess what, many people don't and this fact allows companies like CW to make money by offering a watch they can buy. 🤯
