BOR, Original or alternative rubber, nato or what? 🤔

I do enjoy my divers on a bracelet. So upon grabbing the Willard I immediately set about getting an Uncle Seiko BOR, also a green nato. I loved the look of the original strap that came with it; although the hardware (chiefly the keeper) isn’t the most comfy tbh. Does the difference in colour of the bracelet due to the diashield on the watch look kinda wrong or is it just fine in your opinion? Utilitarian look or shiny shiny? What say you?

If I had one, I'd put it on a black rubber chocolate bar strap from Uncle Straps to really go for that vintage look. I think it would also look killer on an elastic fabric strap like a hook strap from Nick Mankey Designs or something that's closer to the MN style like one from Erika's Originals.

Thanks 🙏 Useful feedback…Those chocolate bar straps do look the part. Even a “waffle” rubber perhaps? Not enough options on the poll 😉🤣 You’re leaning towards utilitarian rather than shiny; I agree that’s probably more the style of the piece. The bracelet is growing on me as well though…

The steel beads of rice looks great on here.

Thanks 🙏 It’s definitely growing on me now, plus it’s very comfortable. When I first started into the crazy world of watches I didn’t necessarily think I was a “bracelet guy” but I do love ‘em 😀

I’ve yet to try one of these… Interesting suggestion, thank you 🙏

Lovely watch there btw 👏

Your Willard is a strap and bracelet monster, bud! All of the above work well. Also get it a hexad bracelet, a few more silicone strap styles, and MN straps like @biglove mentioned. Cheers and enjoy! Image

Many Thanks 🙏 The Hexad design does look rather splendid, great suggestion. I guess the MN straps can get you around the situation I often get with standard nato where I end up “between holes” ? Interesting… So loving this new beast, not sure when my other watches are going to get a look-in 🤣🍻

You're welcome bud! Enjoy!

The Willard came on a waffle strap, and that is the way it should be. IMHO

Fair point, Sir! I do love the original look on the Seiko strap. My Watchgecko ridged green nato has turned up in the post; as others have suggested I’m definitely interested in the MN bands too, bit pricey though… I will be having a play with it all on Sunday 😉👍

Have fun! It's all a personal choice anyway but now you can get different color waffle straps as well, which could also be an interesting twist.

Cheers! I do like the waffle and “chocolate bar” styles too… so much choice 😁👍

Got the black Willard, tried a couple of bracelets but couldn't live with the colour difference, & I can't stand rubber (comfort wise, don't mind the looks) so it's lived on Nato's for the last year or so - love 'em. Comfortable, durable and easy to swap regularly. Parachute/MN straps are very comfortable, but I'm a bit chubby and don't like the fat buldges either side of the strap coz they remind me I'm overweight 😆

Initially I kept noticing the colour difference between the watch head and the bracelet but I’m used to it now. Fair point there. I have a few natos (the wrong size for the Willard though) and I do like all the swapability and variety but I don’t enjoy being “between holes” with ‘em sometimes. This can also lead to “chubby man wrist” if I have ‘em tighter 🤣 I’ve yet to try MN but I’m keen to do so. Anyway this morning I’m gonna get that bracelet off (thank goodness for those drilled lugs) and try my only (new) nato at 20mm on there and see what happens 👍

So the Watchgecko ridged nato is the first alternative to try now the bracelet is off; haven’t ordered anything else yet but I’m sure I will soon enough 😉

Sturdy, comfy… liking it so far 👍

Cheers! 👍 I’ve enjoyed the Choc Bar rubber quite a bit recently, and that’s been super-practical too; but now it’s back on the bracelet I’m totally in love with that looks and comfort-wise again 😁

Woot! Woot! I'm sure it's because the BoR is so comfy on wrist. ;) I have the same experience when wearing a jubilee bracelet. Keep rockin' it mate!
