Watchcrunch hypothetical Swap shop

This year I'm shrinking my collection. And I have a few pieces that I would make a swap with. Could be quite a bit of fun!

I would swap all the watches in my collection for a younger Maggie Philbin or Sarah Greene. I don't care about swapping for another watch. I hate watches actually.

I've done many swaps on Facebook, most recent being this weekend, I swapped a Zelos Swordfish I really didn't like for an alkin model 2. Done maybe 10-15 swaps on Facebook (& the odd cheeky offer on eBay that was accepted). Yet to be ripped off.

Much prefer swapping than selling & buying, way more hassle.

Edit- only found out recently that "Posh paws" is an anagram of "Swap Shop" (preferred Sally James on TISWAS tho tbh 😂)

I don’t like selling watches and rather swap them to someone who will like the watches and enjoy them after the swap. And maybe find a piece I wasn’t expecting 😁

Same here. I’ve done a swap here once before. Will be great if more people are open to it.

Glad to know a few of you have swapped watchs before 😀 it just seems an easier way to rotate something of similar value with out the hassle of selling.

I think there would have to be some guidelines though….some people might have to be careful putting their names on a package to someone they never met, address and all. This was a concern very recently with data locations being in our picture uploads. @Watchovski had this issue.

I think swapping in person may be better, but we’re all spread around the world. But yeah, I would much rather trade and rotate some pieces and have “new” watches every few months. 😂🤣

Swap shop let’s go, I sold all watches after purchasing one that I never wanted to leave at home. Feels great. Didn’t stop the constant deep dives in search 👀 of other watches. Love this site ✌🏻

It's so funny that I just arranged a swap with my cousin before I read this. Swapping my Rado Voyager for one of her ladies SM. I love the Rado as it's my first automatic/mechanical watch but I knew that the SM is THE perfect watch for my sister from the moment I saw it and I regret nothing in getting it for her. *Sigh* the things we do for love.

Well, if I were to auction/sell my entire collection except for one to wear, I would definitely head off to the classic car auction(s) and seek a really awesome old car, something like a 65 Mustang convertible or something with big wings. 😁

I’ve tried. There’s actually someone over there with a watch I want to ask a few questions about but the UI is really archaic and confusing. I can’t even figure out how to send the seller a message. 🤷‍♂

I don’t have an account with either of those platforms any more. My Facebook was hacked and subsequently locked and I’m still boycotting Reddit for being shitty. 😂

On desktop you just hover the mouse over their username and a box will pop up with the users info. Then you just hit the message button. On my mobile you just have to click the username and then hit message. It’s pretty simple.

Ok. Let’s give this a try. I have a WatchDives WD1680Q Milsub VH31 quartz. The bracelet is big enough to fit the Incredible Hulk. This quartz movement ticks 4 times per second emulating a mechanical movement. The lume is ok, but I am not happy with the lume. Willing to sell for a reasonable offer (just pm me) or trade this + a Berny VH31 Seiko SNK809 homage in titanium with titanium bracelet and some cash for a Seiko SNZG 7S36 field watch.

USA only please. Since I work 3rd shift it is a bit difficult to go and fill out customs forms.

Is it me or is swapping not downsizing? 🙂
