Mechanical movements or…..

Do you have a preference? Do you even care?
Rotor winding, microrotor, bumper or manual?
Or do you like a quartz based movement be it battery, kinetic or Spring Drive?
Love to know what you all think…

I like 'em all.  Lifes too short to narrow down choices.

Agreed, each has their merits and something to enjoy!

I don't think I have a preference. I have mostly vintage hand-crankers, but a few autos as well - vintage bumpers, modern and vintage rotor autos. Some quartz - including a digital Casio and two Citizen Radio-Controlled Eco-Drives - as well.

Coal fueled steam engines only. The filthier the coal the better.

Seriously though, I’m with others and wanna try them all.

I like any watch thar blows my hair back for whatever reason. That said, automatics absolutely blow my mind more than any other type of movement, so I’ll probably always love them best.

No preference, would like to own a micro-rotor but haven't seen a modern version I would buy yet

·

Glad to hear that you all have no preference.. as you can see from my photos I love them all too!

Not bashing quartz, i have a lot of respect to it as a matter of fact. But i have always find mechanical movements a bit more alive and romantic, so as long as its mechanical, i dont really mind.

With that said i have yet to experience a watch with microrotor, i d like to get a piece with that at some point 🙌🏼

All of them, sometimes the ease of just picking up a Quartz watch and not having to wind it up or set it is amazing, but then you have the automatic movements which are 💯

So in your collection you should have all of them :)

I have and like them all. I select on dial, fit and it’s appeal (to me) on the wrist. I have a good collection of automatics and spring drives, and probably way too many quartz, I pull the trigger easily on an interesting dial or complication when the watch is under $1k. So, I’ve got a few weird quartz numbers, but they are all interesting in the case.
