Looking for a bit of help, which one would you choose?
The Grand Quartz has a better movement and at the time was a higher end piece however the King Quartz has such a beautiful dial.
If Anyone has experience with these watches help is greatly appreciated
Not sure if you're aware of their existence but if you're considering vintage Seiko quartz you might also want to look into Seiko Superior Quartz. They were the next step up the quality ladder from their Grand Quartz line up and were also an important milestone for Seiko as they had managed to achieve a standard deviation of plus or minus 5 seconds a year with those watches.

The superior would be the one money no object but their a wee bit out of my price range for one.
I have a similar Seiko type 2 quartz and I love the way the textured dials look from this period, BUT, personal preference, I like the lugs on the Grand better. It's more versatile and classic. Both great.
My vote is GQ, but I'm biased. This thing is shockingly accurate, despite being 46 years and unserviced - a few seconds a month in the 6 months I've owned it. It also looks pretty good on a strap too, which isn't the case with the hooded lugs on that KQ.

That’s what I ended up going for the sharp case lines really appealed to me

Very nice. I'm a bit fan of that case design, though the -8100 you picked up is a little smaller in diameter than my -8041. The case is really fantastic in profile, with the curve of the case side coming to a point right in line with the crown and the bezel chamfered on the top and bottom side to form another sharp point. It's really quite lovely, though it sits high on your wrist.

Fair enough. They were more expensive than Seiko's best automatic watches back when they were new! They're some very finely made watches.
that Quartz symbol though 😂

The King Quartz appeals more to me from just judging from these photos.

I can’t unsee it now

In that case, don’t look to hard at the 12 oclock marker on the Speedy dial 😅
