How would you start again?
Imagine all your watches are gone and you have £1000 to start your collection again in 2023...how do you do it and what to you get?

I love collecting watches and guitars. Unfortunately my guitar spend prohibits spending on expensive watches so enjoy my very budget watch collection 😂🎸

Quality over quantity for me.
Honestly, I would probably do a combination; 1 @ $500, 1@ $250, and 2-3 under $100 (also honestly, $100 would get 5 or so Casio watches 🤣).

Well I bought my first watch July 2022 and I'm pretty close to that amount. In chronological order:
Timex Waterbury Traditional €230
Casio Duro €70
Pagani Design Daytona €71 + Pagani Design Zulu Spirit €101
Tissot XL Blue €100
Tissot (vintage) €180
RZE Endeavour €460
= €1212 (£1041)
I got the Timex thinking it'd be my only watch. But I realised quickly that I liked watches and that I needed some options. One watch is sad, seven is a party.
Would I do the same again? No,I wish I skipped the Daytona. It's a good watch for the price but we just didn't click. All the others I genuinely enjoy wearing even if the RZE is my clear favourite.
I think I'd go with 4 x <£250 watches. I would prefer 3 x £333, but you can have a lot of fun with variety. I like to switch watches everyday, only wearing one would be a bit dissapointing.
If I am going one watch, I am going to need about $1700 to start. Sinn 556 would be my only watch for a one watch collection at less than $5K

Yeah, that was my actual vote as well.
I think it would really be three $150+/-$50 watches and pocket the rest. Make that +$50/-$85. Ah hell, I'll blow the remainder on that overpriced Hamilton Pilot Pioneer puppy.

3-4 watches is what I am currently going for. My two right now are 280 and 270. I think is 5 to many but I don't want all my eggs in one basket in case of damage or stolen. Though $500 x2 does stretch my options and is very intriguing.
