Watches in Japan...

My recent trip to Japan was incredible.

It was also my first opportunity to experience watches in person that I had previously only been able to see online.

In short, the experience did not disappoint...

The watches were a memorable, though small, part of the trip; I can't say enough positive things about my time there.

Beautiful photos. Is one of these shots from Hiroshima?

Thank you! Yes, spent a few days in Hiroshima; the photo is from Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park.

·

Thought so. In 1990 I was on a business trip in Japan and got to visit Hiroshima and the gardens in Kyoto. Very memorable.

Beautiful pics! Beautiful watches! Thanks for sharing.

What a wonderful trip. Beautiful photos and wristwatches, thanks for sharing.

Great pictures. Amazing watches. Brings back a lot of memories of my time there. Unfortunately I wasn't a watch nerd then. Looking forward to going back one day and going down the rabbit hole.

It seemed like a perfect place to enjoy the rabbit hole. I didn't expect to see so many watch shops around places I was already planning to go. The atmosphere and service in the shops adds to the enjoyment too.

Beautiful Blue dial. I love the fact that it is a Buddhist country with an amazing culture. How was the customer service compared to US /UK?

It was completely different in my experience. In the US I've found watch shopping to be very "salesy" and sometimes pretentious or judgmental. In Japan it was much more welcoming and relational. Even when I made it clear I was just looking and not planning to buy, the level of service was second to none.

Lovely! My wife (a Japanese native) and I will be permanently moving over there within the next couple of years.

Amazing! My wife was born outside of Japan but all of her family is from there. I could see us moving there at some point in the future. Enjoy the new adventure!

Great shot! Love the G-Shock. It reminds me of how many steps I put in exploring there...

Absolutely gorgeous

Lovely 🥰

·

Magical! I understand there is an air of civility in Japan second-to-none. That would be something to experience!

Lucky bugger!

I came back in March from Japan and I'm already thinking about heading there for the 4th time LOL.

·

I was there in September for work, and had a lot of fun watch (window) shopping too. Hope to go back again soon, and see more of the country than just Tokyo (though if I’m there for a work trip, that’s not likely).

I enjoyed Tokyo a lot, though it was my least favorite place of the trip. I'd highly recommend getting off the beaten path if possible.

Such beautiful shots. Himeji Castle? Miyajima shrine? Golden Pavillion I recognize. What equipment did you use for your pictures? Heading to japan in 6 weeks. Hope to get some pictures that are 20% as good as yours. You seemed to avoid the crowds - must be an early riser 👌

You got it! The photos were just taken on my iPhone SE.

Enjoy your trip! I'm looking forward to going back sooner than later.
