What are these worth on the pre loved market?

Just curious what the resale percentage on no mark no scratches, SPB 143 & SPB183J are worth box & papers . Just curious on other opinions on the crunch

Hello, on the secondary market the 143 goes for about $1200 and the 183 goes for about &1400

I've seen them $700-900 (USD) the SPB 143. I am looking at one now, it was $800 by seller, now reduced to $700. I was gonna offer him $650 to see if he bites.

I've owned this watch twice, sold both times, due to the poor quality control and erratic movement. I just think for retail: $1,200 (USD) it needs to be better quality. I do love the look of watch.

I see the SPB143 on the used market around $700 regularly. Knowing that, I wouldn't pay for more than $700 for a used one. I got mine for $650 without a mark on it.

$1200 is way too much for the SPB143. I have one and enjoy it, but my Doxa Sub 200 was $200 less at retail and is nicer watch in every aspect. The SPB143 should really retail for around $800 based on the build quality. Very cool watch, just overpriced by Seiko.

Did you get yours regulated? I was gonna buy one, and take it to local AD, have them regulate it.

I love the drilled lugs, look of watch, I just hated the erratic movement. Plus or minus 20-30 seconds a day is not acceptable at the retail price point. My opinion.

I did not. Mine doesn't run well either, while my Willard with the same movement runs great. I didn't bother regulating it because I've read numerous reports of someone having it regulated and then a few months later it's erratic again. I rarely wear the same watch twice in a row so the accuracy doesn't bother me at all. Personally, I wouldn't bother regulating it. You just have to know any of the 6R35 movements have the possibility of being erratic and be able to live with that.

Understood. I've never dealt with the misaligned bezel that many complain about. I think for the right price (Sub $700) it is a great watch. For retail it is not.

I’ve owned 5 Seiko divers and none of the bezels aligned properly. None were way off, but none were also perfect. That said, my Doxa doesn’t align either.

I agree. The -20 to +30 per day is totally unacceptable, in particular in light of the prices Seiko is charging these days.

I only buy secondhand Seiko and regulate them myself. It doesn’t take much time and I can get them easily at -4 to +4

Three of my 5 were Prospex. Ironically enough the best aligned of them all was a basic Seiko 5.
