What to do? Buy Speedy or Keep the Santos?

If you're considering it then that shows the Cartier no longer does it for you.

I’d definitely take the Speedmaster over a Santos, but that’s my personal preference. I’ve never been a Cartier fan, but even so, the Omega is the more interesting watch in my opinion, in function and appearance.

Neither is a watch that I crave, but given the choices that sapphire sandwich is the way to go. Look at that movement! The Cartier is really lovely, but the Omega is a technical and historical tour de force. Of course, you’ll want to try it on in person to make sure it’s suited to you in terms of look and fit.

And I gotta go with @cantaloop: If you have a watch like that Cartier and don’t love it, then why hang on to it?

hmmm I hardly wear my Speedie Sandwich… but I do like it… and I don’t I wear my santos Dumont often either … they’re my watch box princesses …

I’m no help…but the speedie has a beautiful movement imo…

Keep the Santos, a great absolute classic! Sure it's a fancy watch, but it's also incredibly steampunk.

I only wished we can buy it like the other movements like an nh35/36/34 that would be awesome!! Also a spring drive movemnt. 😜

Keep Santos and save for Speedy.

I've genuinely considered it, but I already have too many watches for me. I'm at 16.

If you love the Santos, keep it and save for the Speedy. Seem like different enough watches they can both be in a collection. 👍

If you can pull it off, keep the santos and buy the speedy. But I’m guessing if you’re contemplating getting rid of the santos, you’ve fallen out of love with it.

Its just a more interesting watch to me. Also the Santos isn't the Cartier I'd want if I could afford one. I'd rather have a Tank.

Omega fanboy here, I'd have the Santos. More practical (presume it's an automatic? ) Both equally iconic IMHO, but the Santos is the Grandaddy of all wristwatches .

Hmm. You sir pose a good question. Well it like this for me. It’s not that difficult in terms of how I value what goes in the collection and having a history and story is big brownie points so!, Speedy is going to have to be my pick BUT I would do my best to keep both if possible. ✌️😉
