Yep. If you measure without including the crown guards it's closer to 40. Then you have the really compact lugs. Which is why it wears so well.

Well that is a beautiful watch. Would love one myself. But have always preferred the BP line over the Mark series.

There's different reasons for keeping each of them. Monetary value is probably the least important factor. But I think this makes sense.
