Who does it best?

I love dive watches, and I love gilt dials. Which is the "best" gilt dialed diver out there?

Outside of these two, what else is available out there and what are peoples experiences?

I'm a big fan of my glycine combat sub 👍 really nice gilt accents and a sturdy construction with sapphire and 300m water resistance 🤩

Great looking watch 🔥 Does it come on a bracelet?

Yup it does! 🍻

I own an SPB147 and I'll never buy a BB. But the best gilt dial on a watch that I own belongs to the bronze Yema Superman.

Lorier Neptune - I’ve really enjoyed, very light and functional

·

Rado Captain Cook

And its ceramic sibling

I really like it when it is unexpected, on a burgundy backdrop or light blue.

from the above two divers... the Tudor though i'm a great fan of Seiko and certainly those broad bended golden hands. The snowflakes are really getting the job done

Easy win for the 147 for me, love the diashield coating and really dislike the Bland Bay range ( just find round indices really jarring...love the Pelagos range)

·

That’s easy to answer: Tudor.

I don't know if its the best one but i love my SRP775 Turtle

Don’t have many gilt divers - opted for the BB58 blue vs the gilt but do enjoy this turtle.

BB for me

I am not sure, but these may fit. Please check.

Take em' both.. Just feels the same. I have these stunningly beautiful watches!

Baltic Aquascaphe is a pretty sweet and affordable option in addition to many of those mentioned above.

Sticking with my Seiko SPB239. Perfect amount of gilt accents for me. I always thought the BB58 was too bit too much of gold accents while I owned one.

The Seamaster 300 Heritage was the reason I started liking the colourway.

Can never get enough gold! I would miss the gilt hands on the 239. Still a great looking watch though.

BB54 😉

Not enough gilt for my liking !

True. It really depends on the execution.

For me, the BB58 dial just felt too flat for the gold accents. The Seiko SPB147 did it better, it has that sunburst chocolate dial which complimented the gold accents very well.

Mine is not traditional gilt, more modern gilt:

So many options though:

Oris 65, Zodiac Seawolf '53, Longines Legend, Yema Superman, Rado Captain Cook. I've owned them all, but I keep reaching for my Oris or my Burgundy Black Bay.

Have you seen all the new crazy expensive 300s? I popped over to omega to grab this screen shot and saw a bunch of 300s I’d never seen before. All precious metals.

Yeah, they got released along with Seamaster heritage. There is $45000 platinum version which is the most expensive in the range😅

I would trade my SPB147 for a BB54 or Rootbeer GMT , but would take an SLA043 over all of the former , this gets tricky with brand loyalty’s over models :)

Yeah I agree the 147 has a great dial. I like the dual finish on the handset.

I second the GW! This is my first Zelos, found at a pawn shop no less

(granted the one you've shown there is a Mako...)

I’m really stoked about my Seiko blue mini monster. At first the golden markers were odd but now it’s so cool how the light gets them. (Bad photo) but you asked it in this cool topic.
