Strap Question

I recently bought this Bulova Mil Ships Standard Edition.   Love it for what it is, but wanted to change the strap to make it more usable on a daily basis for me.   Are there any straps that fit the 16 mm lug width, but wider than 16 mm after the lug?  I hope that makes sense.

This might fit...

Just kidding 😉

Even I like the Mil Ships, but to find straps is a pain in the a.... literally 😉

But I guess I know what you mean. Something in this kind of shape which fits between the lugs but has a more wider or even integrated look, to make it appear more wider.

I don't know if it's impossible but that's quite hard to find.

Thank you That is exactly what I'm looking for.  But now to measure the watch correctly and make sure that one will give it the nice integrated look

I've made a quick search at some of germanies biggest strap supplier but couldn't found anything. 16mm is really hard to find.

But as an alternative there are casio and smartwatch straps. I know they don't look such elegant. But I think it's worth to try as it's quite cheap.

As above, designer needs sacked!!

The "designer" in this case was the U.S. Navy. The strap width was part of the spec.

I am a Vietnamese myself and this is the first time I heard of a watch accessories company from Vietnam and based in Da Nang too.

I have this watch and straps were kind of difficult. I haven't found anything like you are looking for, but have had some success with 16mm straps. First, check out Haveston and their canvas 16mm straps. They are high quality, and single pass. But they are bulky enough to not look dainty. They were designed to actually fit military watches of the era.

Don't be afraid to have something made. I think a thick waxed suede looks great on this watch. I've had them made at both Jack Foster and Velbenist. The key is to do zero taper. You can get custom options here for under $100 easy.

I also went wild and had a strap made in black stingray. I went with a minimal taper (14mm), but if I had to do it again, I would have done no taper.

Great suggestions!   Yes totally agree about the zero taper.   Definitely considering custom options and looking at other divers from blancpain, etc to get some ideas.

Nice Bulova! 16mm strap wow. I would have a custom strap made. I have some straps done by Leatherbound.ink. My nephew does the work. Great straps!

Cheers!
