A-11 Watch Find!
I recently had the privilege of acquiring a notable piece of military history,
a quest that has personal significance due to my family's military background. 🇺🇸🙌🏼
This is an Elgin A11 watch, an instrument whose precision played a critical role in World War II.
This watch wasn't merely a keeper of time; it was an essential tool for coordinating complex military operations with exactitude,
from strategic troop deployments to the timing of critical air and naval strikes.🕰️
The Elgin A11 is distinguished by its hacking mechanism, a feature that allowed the synchronization of watches across units to the precise second.
While its exterior has been refurbished, the heart of the watch—the internal mechanisms—remains untouched and original.
Plus, I scored a brand-new "old stock" strap from a wartime supplier, a find that's as rare as it is old—80 years, to be precise!
Truly a remarkable piece of history.

This is an original so 32mm across (not including the crown), 39mm lug-to-lug, and 16mm between the lugs.
Doenst wear too small on my 6.5 wrist surprisingly
