Favorite Explorer Style Watch?

Happy Monday! What’s your favorite Explorer style watch?

Got the A7 tradition.

My favorite Vaer watch even surpassing their Dirty Dozen homage.

Something about the simplicity of the white hands and clean dial with the amazing movement ( Sellita SW200 )

Been eyeing the smiths everest next and wondering if anyone has one? Thanks!

Facts! I got several. Thanks for the feedback and comment !

The Smiths Everest is a great watch. As is the Christopher Ward C63 Sealander 36mm and the Sinn 556I.

And you can never go wrong with the OG itself!

Yeah, about that, you could say I have a 'type.' I'm a sucker for Explorer style watches 🤤. And watch makers know a sucker when they see one! What little sense I have left has kept me from getting the Tudor Black Bay 36 and the Grand Seiko SBGX261...so far 😉

Fun fact, I got my youngest the Vaer S3 36mm quartz Explorer for Christmas a few years ago right when it came out. Excellent watch.

Saved rounds, the SARB033 and SARB017 Alpinist both give off some pretty good Explorer vibes as well, especially on NATO straps.

And the Monta Triumph as well...

My personal favorite from mkii, I've always wanted a date at 430 on a 39mm 1016 explorer

Huge fan of my Ranger.

It looks great next to my 224270.

I own the Lorier Falcon III, and have this Nivada Grenchen Super Antarctic 3.6.9 on my list. Both pretty awesome (and more attainable) alternatives to the Rolex 1016.

I like the Vaer a lot. Here my creatures:

But being true adventure and true homage I'd say the Traska is the right contender in the affordable space.

Agreed on the Nivada Grenchen 369 Super Antarctic. The double domed crystal and the vintage style internal AR coating really work well for the dial.

Here the Explorer and the Traska are the most comfortable ones. The Ranger would come third but that's at the same time, the most legible of ll and the one that most fits the specs to be a true adventure watch by design. But then again, the Summiteer would come the second considering the price as an important factor.

Excellent question -- one that resonates with me. For various reasons (mostly bracelet related), neither the 114270 nor the 124270 worked for me. The Explorer is one of my favorite watch designs, and so it was difficult to accept the fact that I simply couldn't... anyway...

I had a bad experience with Smiths, so the Everest is out (sold my PRS-25 out of spite). The Lorier doesn't do it for me. I'm extremely annoyed with the poor performance of Seiko watches, so the SARB is out as well.

The only two watches that scratch the itch, for me, are the Sinn 556 and the Nivada 3.6.9. Both are incredible.

wow thats awesome

AD is great value for money. It always steal some wrist time vs my PRX, Hamilton or Kamasu 🙃

Seems impossible to find the A7 Tradition!!!

My god that’s amazing

Thanks! I think they are both worth it and they both occupy a different part of a collection. That said, my Ranger gets the most wrist time cause I feel comfortable wearing it to do nearly anything. It’s also more accurate than my Explorer.

The Traska is gorgeous. Got to try some on this last March.
