Hot Take…White Dials don’t Suck
White dials seem to be a huge trend in 2024. Lots of hype around some recent releases, however do they work on all brands?
I love traditional Panera and their iconic case, shape, and dial layout. I know they have released several dials in White and I never showed interest. Yesterday doing a little shopping I actually tried one on and I don’t know if it’s just the recent influx of overload to my brain with all the post but damn, this really works.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Are there any other Brands or models you would like to see do a dial switch to white?

Fantastic watch, some white dials in my opinion do suck.
Just my personal opinion the stark shiny white or bright lacquered ones often are just too much for me. I prefer more of a matte white, soft white, or off white with tones of cream, silver, or even pearl. These tend not to blind me like fresh snow reflecting in the sun.
All personal, but to your question, I do t believe they work on all brands. They can impact legibility, overall tone and wearability of the watch or even make a watch seem too large or disproportionate of dial size to case/bezel….
Examples of watches I and I alone don’t think work, Rolex Explorer II, the new white dial Speedmaster 🫢and even some of the Grand Seikos. I don’t like stark white on some Cartier’s or Pateks and white dial sport watches with toned or colored lume.

I tried on the PAM2223 a month ago. Really loved that watch in the white dial. But white definitely doesn’t work on every piece. For some it’s perfect though 👍

That's what I was thinking. I do think a white dial needs sanother design element to balance it, otherwise it can look like a sheet of paper stuck to your wrist. But I have a couple white dials and think they look great dressed up.
