Top of the morning from 🇸🇬 crunchfam! Wearing my Glycine Airman on a Strapsco Cigar Leather.

Short history buffs; It is a remarkable timepiece favorably known for its significance among the demands for the US Air Force Pilots. This piece were made available at the PXs during the Vietnam War Era.

Still fascinates me in the collection these days..

Every time I see one of these I want one, but I’m not sure I want to commit to one yet. Not that it matters a lot, but it would be nice if these had at least above-dress-watch WR if I’m paying for a near-luxury product with that heritage. That and it’s hard to shake the feeling that my Vostoks are a little truer because they don’t just use a GMT movement that has the main hour hand removed. Idk. Maybe one day 🤷‍♂️

Morning Glen. Beautiful piece! And the strap is very nice. Have a great one.

Thanks, James. The strap seems like a perfect matchmaker, bringing out the timeless charm of this modern interpretation timepiece.👍

Good point, I totally get that feeling, my friend. Every time you lay your eyes on it, the temptation to take the leap becomes irresistible.

Honestly, I've had experience with a true GMT function, but I found it cumbersome because of the date function settings that I actually preferred. I'll stick with this office GMT, simply moving the hands, which I find more casual and suitable for everyday wear. I don't mind that it's only water-resistant to 30m and I don't plan to wear it for swimming or in rough, flooded conditions. I live with these limits and stand in open air, then I'm fine with that.

This understanding of lingering sense of hesitation keeps you from fully embracing the commitment. Take your time deciding – when the right one comes along, you'll know it at the right time.👌

Yeah traveler GMTs and thier tedious setting process don’t attract me either. Honestly, i think of the the best GMTs I’ve seen is Longines’s quartz VHP ones they had a while ago. Now those are watch that desever the title of “true” GMT.

I was thinking about 24 hour dials the other day and wondered if there will ever be a transition to them. Seems like the most logical choice for a timepiece. The closest thing I have only goes to 16 hah.

It's great to hear that you're still exploring both luxury and affordable options, and making decisions based on your personal preferences, staying true to your own experience. On that note, my brief bio advice is to "know what you like."👍

Interesting thought. Yes, 24-hour dial is practically the most logical choice considering how we use time globally. It'd be fascinating to see if there's a transition towards them in the future. Your ana-digi 16-hour unique dial looks like it's from a parallel universe where days are just a bit shorter.🤔

Thanks, Raymond! I'm not entirely sure if it's that, since its advertise as a ‘Classic Cigar Leather.’ I’m just about fancying the color and decent quality of the StrapsCo strap that sold me on that👍
