Sometimes the simplest watches have the most irresistible charm.

I stick to my daily rotation pretty rigorously during the weekly hustle and bustle, but lately I've been drawn to my vintage Seiko 7005-7030 during days when I have more personal time to myself. I have multiple watches in my collection that are arguably "better", but I just can't stay away from this one right now.

Stylistically it's restrained just enough to have a somewhat conservative and classy look, but it also has some of that 70's funkiness to set it apart from a typical dress watch. It's powered by the 7005 movement which was like the grand daddy of Seiko's 7S series back in the 60's and 70's. Inexpensive, but very robust and accurate.

I think any of you out there with large collections can probably relate. Is there a certain seemingly humble watch in your collection that you're particularly attached to despite it being "cheap" in comparison to the more technically impressive, more outwardly refined watches in your possession?

Good looking watch. Looks good on that strap.

I own a vintage Seiko Quartz QT 3802-7020 that I love wearing during dry spells of weather

I wish modern watches had the texturedness and 3-dimensionality of vintage dials

Love those indices.

They don't for the most part, and get were charged and arm and a leg for these things.

I know, but there are still many affordable ones that had applied hour marks and whatnot

Totally agree. Beauty in simplicity is timeless.
