Not stopped running.

I have a question for those far more knowledgeable than I, should I be concerned that my Phoibos is still running after 4 days sitting in my watch box? It contains an NH35A Movement.

Not at all normal ( or even possible) There's not a NH35 in the world with a 96 hour reserve.

Is it still keeping time? There's a chance that it starts running when you take it out of the box. It doesn't take much to get the seconds hand moving on some watches.

You may be unaware, but there are watch elves. Just like the kindly cobbler elves who snuck into the old man’s shop to finish his backlog of shoes while he slept, watch elves wind and service your movement in the wee hours of the night. 😊

It’s a quartz in disguise … or you’ve had an earthquake?

It is keeping time very well. My normal experience is that I need to at least shake it a little before it runs though, not just take it out of the box.

Could be posessed ;)

An NH35 with a 96 hour power reserve? HAIL HYDRA!!!

My theory is you sleep walk. Go to the watch box, put it on, dance around the house, take it off put it back and then go to bed. This phenomenon began for nights ago 😂

That's entirely possible, especially as I'd had a couple of beers! 😉🤣

OK, so the answer is this movement is a lot more sensitive than my other NH35s. You live and learn 🤷‍♂️

·

Or... do you have a wife and/or kids who might be trolling you. Maybe they are given your watch the "Seiko Shake" when you're not looking.😂

·

I also have a cursed watch, my Bucherer Chronometer. It doesn't run, but I have an eerie feeling about it.

Who do we call in a situation like this, a priest, a watchmaker?

·

Are you maybe sleepwatchwinding? I have a buddy, horrible condition - he had to switch to quartz 🤪

·

Could it be that the earth’s rotation is acting like a watch winder because your rotor is frictionless? 😂

But it would then go only one rotation per 24 hours, I doubt that's enough to wind the spring in any useful manner.

I think it's indeed the aforementioned case of sleepwatchwinding. Unfortunate soul, this condition is very rare.

Leave it on your desk where you can see the face without touching it. It has to stop. The build quality of my Kraken is amazing for what I paid.

I agree 100%. I'm just not used to an NH35 movement starting just by picking it up. With all my others I at least have to give it a gentle shake to get it going.

Has it ever been adjusted? If so, to how many positions?

There is no information on their website as to how much work has been done on the movement. I have not had any adjustments done personally. Given the overall performance of the movement though, I think its safe to assume that it has been at least properly cleaned and oiled, and possibly regulated.
