This Bulova or an alternative inner rotating bezel watch?

I’d welcome feedback and thoughts on this Bulova. Haven’t seen it in person but I am toying with the idea of getting it. Partly and simply because a watch with an inner rotating bezel is on my list of ‘wants’ and this looks quite attractive to me and (just about) in my size range. Having said that I’d welcome other suggestions of watches with inner rotating bezels. Thanks!

Personally I like what Bulova does these days. It is attractive enough so why not?

A few places have the Bulova A-15 on sale. That’s a bit different for inner rotating bezel, and an automatic.

·

No experience with this watch but definitely has a character all its own with the blue indices. If you like that look, then there really aren’t many alternatives to offer up. I believe Christopher Ward makes an inner rotating bezel / compressor style watch. I think Dan Henry does as well. Probably many more out there, just gotta do the internet leg work. Good luck!

Inner bezels are indeed interesting! Not so practical for diving, but interesting.

I've been back and forth about the Longines Legend Diver for a while. Sadly i cant try it on anywhere right now, but the watch itself looks class. Comes in 2 sizes, 36 and 42 and is overall a great watch.

But may i add i like what Bulova does those days.

I have the the following Spinnaker with inner rotating bezel... Its a great watch. Great Lume, sapphire. date window is also black...

I'll also suggest vintage. You can even search for the same brand since Bulova did produce some super compressors back in the 60s.

I just did a Google for 'Super Compressor watches' out if interest, and oh my word, there are some cool options out there!

I found this nice looking piece with the funky micro symbol at 9 (because why not?)....

Have fun on your search!

I’ve got this from Malm which is great although a pilot Watch rather than a diving super compressor.

And I’m thinking about the Circula Super Compressor just because I like the look of it.

I’ve also tried the Dan Henry but found it felt a little cheap, and I had the Spinnaker Bradner which definitely felt better built but was a bit chunky for me.

If you are interested in the watch, I would say go for it. I have been very happy with my Bulova purchases, and I have a Bulova with an inner rotating bezel that works really well (actually, it has two inner rotating bezels); my A15 Pilot.

I would recommend you do not google “vintage super compressor watch”.

Promise me?

Promise me you will not do that…

I like Bulova when they stick to their original designs which is why I still wear my Accutron II Lobster, despite being oversized.

It's double crowned with an internal rotating bezel, but not really a dive watch.

What I don't like is the Ugly R' Us style of the Precisionists and some of the automatics. IMO the persons responsible for these models should be escorted under guard out of Bulova's premises.

You can grab the Traska true GMT watch:

Thank you for the pointers! I def like the look of Dan Henry watches and recently subscribed to Christopher Ward newsletter. Will have a look at what they do specifically with the inner rotating bezels / compressors ( a term which I’ve only just learned thanks to this thread!) 😀

To be honest I don’t dive but just like the idea of playing around with the bezel and I do use countdown a lot for cooking 😀

The Longines Legend Diver is beautiful! Somewhat beyond my price range but I can see why you are considering it! Good luck!

Beautiful and very much a look that I like and well within my affordability range. Not a brand I am familiar with. I will look this up. Thanks for the tip!

That’s one beautiful piece! And thanks for introducing me to the term “super compressor” - i wasn’t aware that’s what it’s called and has helped with my research and googling !

Wow. Both beautiful. It doesn’t have to be a diver for me and I like that AirWolf. Had a look on the Malm website and their watches are clearly very popular as most options are out of stock! I’ll be keeping an eye on availability! Thank for the tips.

Longines Legend Diver?

Absolutely beautiful but unfortunately outside of my budget. Love the look of it, it’s got a retro vibe that I really dig (1950s 1960s design?)

I believe they’re on WC so you can check with them directly. Good luck.
