The case for Travel Case(s)?

Hello all,

Recently I posted what four watches I was taking on my cruise. The comments got me thinking about how many watches to take on travel and how to carry them.

I’ve tried the old four watch case with elastic holding straps; and those straps don’t last long for me.

I’ve have, and use, a case; but that requires allocating space in the carryon bag. A watch role pretty much does too.

So I’ve started using these single watch pod cases. They’re hard shell with zipper closure and pads inside. I’ve found the they take virtually no room because each one fits into a gap between other things. Also, if one zipper (elastic strap?), breaks, I only lose one watch compartment.

So I find these great travel cases.

How do you carry your watches on travel?

I use a roll for carrying 3-4 watches, and pods if I'm only taking one or two watches.

My roll is just a waxed canvas roll, so the roll gets placed in my carry-on, wrapped in my extra set of clothes.

My regular ad supplies me with a small zip up case when I buy a watch or just gives me as many as I ask for. I bring him a pound of coffee beans when I order a supply.

Prometheus Design Werx EDTC case or WOE Travel Pouch at the moment.

I also have a watch pod for my rather larger digital because even though I might be a neo-barbian, I like to actually travel with a nice watch and keep the Digi in carry-on.

Random pics from the Internet since I'm at work at the moment. I'll try to give an updated pic when I'm home later.

There’s always the ‘one on each wrist, one on each ankle’ approach. (Or you know, in your socks. In the bag this time.)

Really, I wonder how I would approach taking multiple watches away myself sometimes, and wanted to have a look at this thread for that reason, and also to comment on the wonderful incongruity of an image of a case for a G-Shock. Like, that’s there to protect other things in the back from the G itself right? 😉

I use these cheap $3 hard shell ones from AlieX and they're great.

I've got at least one of each of these, all as freebies:

...but I use the only one I've bought myself as I can take more, it uses less space, and it easily fits into a carry on bag:

Just a pouch or two for me will do. I tend to travel light and i just take the ones i can wear anywhere as well..

I do have watch rolls and cases, but I found that it's better for me when I go on vacations to just take the watch I'm wearing on my wrist and be done with it.

I see a lot of people who’ve never had an airline lose their luggage 😂

Personally, I only ever travel with one watch, unless I buy one when I’m away. Even then I’d double wrist as I don’t want my watch resting next to some of the equipment in the hold that can magnetise it.

I can’t imagine putting watches or anything baton checked baggage 😂🤣🫣
