1WC update - no Samurai ☹️

So I thought the best I might get through with this challenge was a couple of days as I had a Seiko Samurai Save the Ocean on order and I probably wouldn’t be able to resist giving it immediate wrist time. However, it arrived this morning and it’s being returned. 
 

Disappointing there is a little back play on the bezel and the hands don’t line up exactly - at 12 o’clock they line up about 30 seconds before they should. It’s not so noticeable at other on the hour times but I spotted it so it would have always been a bug bear. 

Because I ordered it online it’s one of those situations where I’ve got to send it back for a refund and reorder - unless I can get it to a store, that has stock, they don’t do online exchanges. It was in the sale so I’ve ordered another straight away before they become out of stock altogether, so I should have it by around the middle of next week.

I blame the Watch community for this…..😂😂😂😂 12 months ago I wouldn’t have even noticed or been aware of such things like this plus bezel alignment, etc, etc. But hey, it is thanks to you guys that makes sure I get what I pay for and I can keep a look out for these QC issues 👏🏻👏🏻

Sorry to hear about the Seiko, mate. Is there anywhere local to you where you can see one in person? Hope all goes well with the refund

Online sales can always be a bit tricky, sorry to hear about that. On the bright side, the challenge continues for the 1WC!

There is but none that have it in stock so I’d still only get a refund rather than an exchange. I probably will take it back to a store at some point next week so I get an instant refund and don’t have to risk the post and delay in getting my money back. It’s H Samuel so I know there won’t be a problem even if they don’t agree with my opinion of the faults. I also phoned one of their stores to check that was how online ‘exchanges’ happened before I ordered and paid for another.

These issues is why I’m probably the only watch collector that does have a Seiko, yet! I did just order a Seiko 5 field watch though. I do know the hand set is a bit short and the movement doesn’t hack, so might be my only Seiko

Many thanks for the offer but I’m sure the next one will be better. I watched a number of reviews on it beforehand and they all said that Seiko had actually lifted their game with this release so I’m probably just unlucky……that is me all over though 🤪

I’ve never had any problems with any of my other Seiko’s, and I’ve got 6.

Oh you should be fine then! I agree - store return is definitely better and quicker in refunding.

I’d make a note of the serial number so that the next time you walk into a store that has one in, it isn’t the same one!
