It arrived a day early…..

…..and do I love it 😍

I got this, on a fantastic deal, in place of the Samurai I had to return twice.

I am a massive hypocrite though! I swore I would NEVER add another watch to my collection that had a cyclops. So I bought this on the basis that if I didn’t like it or could get used to it, I’d do a crystal change. However, this the first real hands on experience I’ve had with a candy bar one and I don’t think it’s that bad.

I‘ve never been overly keen on the Monster either but I think the gen 4 is definitely toned down and more to my liking.

I know it’s new but I really do like this and am so glad in a way that the Samurais I had were faulty.

The only downside……those pins Seiko use in the bracelets. I have never drawn blood while adjusting a watch bracelet before but did this time when I slipped off the collar trying to push it on, only to push the pin out the other side to embed itself deep in my finger!!

I might change it for a Barton & I do have some NATO’s (that I was getting for another watch) that may work too - we’ll see

One issue with mine I find it could be a defect on my watch only, that the manual winding isn’t working so it could be the crown or something thats not engaging dunno but the watch still works I just shake it up a bit instead of manually winding it… I hope you don’t have that issue…

Nice pickup. If you really hate the cyclops, they are easy to remove with a lighter (slowly) and a razor blade, I've done it on two watches without causing one scratch. Saves the money and hassle of a new crystal.

I’ve tried doing that before without luck but the thinking here was I’d go for a sapphire too.

Ahh, that makes total sense.
