Q: How did you get into watch collecting?
I had a huge crush on someone who used to repair them. It didn't go anywhere, but it's a reminder to me that people are what make objects seem important.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
Oh man, wish I could post a picture with this. It's an old Timex kids watch, if you look up their current "Time Machines" line it's basically one of those. Hour and minute hands labeled, dial divided into "to" and "past" halves, and a little car follows the seconds hand around. Great watch. Probably got it in 2001-2, first grade.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
Not really. The closest I can come is my heavily modded Amfibia in my banner.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
Citizen, Islander, Timex
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
Probably a 1960's Zodiac (can't believe they're not an option on here!) Sea Wolf. Or an old Blanc Pan 50 fathoms. I love the color of the Sea wolf, and I love the way the interior bezel on the 50 fathoms reflects the light and gives the impression of surface tension on a water droplet.
