Tudor BB 58 Blue or Tudor 79090 Sub Blue?

Just on looks… which would you choose?

Modern or post vintage and why?

I’m leaning towards the 79090

Would you be open to an alternative to to both? The U1 Blue is less expensive and arguably a more robust piece.

The one on the right. Prefer the proportions, no date, bezel design, and rectangular indices.

·

Smoother bezel, no date, no crown guards and no longer the Submariner vibe. BB58 for sure.

·

The 79090 gets my vote. A cleaner more modern look. Both are great. I can't get on with the little faux rivets on the BB bracelets though. I went to by a BB58 recently and came away with a Pelagos. Part of my choice was based on the bracelet..

If money / maintenance issues are not being considered, I'd go with the Sub. I like both, and fwiw, the BB58 is "it's own thing" whereas if you're buying a Tudor Sub, it begs the question, "Why not just wait for a Rolex?" but I find vintage more interesting so I would still go Sub.

Thanks for the comments so far…much appreciated!

With the tritium dial, the indices and hands patina nicely on the 79090…

Love and own the 58, but no doubt the original is great and has more character.

·

My preference between the two would also be the 79090.

·

The 79090, has more character and the blue is much more vibrant.

I find the BB58 in blue quite sterile.

·

Ahh. The submariner for sure.

·

I like the BB59 Blue. The clean/simple dial and no crown guard looks sharp IMO. Of course I still would verify a screw down crown BUT I know this model has that covered

From the vintage Tudor divers, only the snowflake for me

Otherwise - modern bb58 🙌🏼
