I am a family man, married for 23 years and with a son. I have been passionate about watches since I was a child, when I would stare at dad's Seiko Bullhead for hours.
It all started with my dad's Seiko Bullhead watch. When my dad wasn't using it, I would take the watch from the drawer where my dad kept it and I could spend hours looking at that watch.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
The watch that started it all was a Mido Ocean Star Captain V, it was my first automatic watch and after that watch many more followed.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
My oldest watch is an Elgin pocket watch from 1907, it belonged to my wife's grandfather and we keep it today.
It is incredible to see a clock working that is already 116 years old.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
I would tell you not to buy watches impulsively, to inform yourself well about the different types of watches there are, in what situations or circumstances they are used and then decide based on prior knowledge acquired.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
There are many brands, but if I had to mention any, I would say that Oris and Longines are the brands that have watches that I am looking for today.
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
Without a doubt the Seiko Bullhead watch that my dad gave me.
